Disappointed with 435
I took delivery of a new 435 m sport with superman combo yesterday.
I must say that I am disappointed with the exhaust note. I had a 135 DCT and then an E92 M3. I obviously can't compare the V8 to the 435, but I remember that the 135 sounded so much louder and aggressive with a distinct blip with down changes. Please advise whether the 435 exhaust note will change after the break-in? I can't believe that I have to spend more money to make this already expensive car sound better! Anyway, here r some pics: |

For one, there's a turbo blocking the exhaust. Can't expect anything turbocharged to sound that good from the factory.
Get a catless downpipe if you want the most cost-effective way to change the sound. You'll get some extra power as a little bonus. |

here's a cheap & quick diy mod to leave the exhaust flap open. that should help a bit with the sound. video w/ sound in the link.

I was glad to have a quieter cabin after driving my E46 M3 with AC Schnitzer exhaust for 6 years. It sounded sweet, but the drone would get to me at times.

Do they still have those plugs in the trunk that you can unplug to make exhaust louder?
If so, just pull that out. |

I agree...my 135i stock exhaust with DCT had an amazing sound. I definitely miss it. I guess they just tuned the 1er exhaust to be much more aggressive.

I just did some searches and there are mixed reviews from the F30 drivers that did the golf tee mod or variations thereof. Apparently, it does not yield a better sound. Has anyone done the mod to a F32 |
