Having driven the new 5 series. I would be hard pushed to buy a 4GC. The 5 is light years ahead in fit and finish and tech

Not as good as a 4 series. But I wouldn't say ugly.

It's not ugly in my opinion. That said, you can't also compare the build and finish of a 5-series to a 3 or 4-series as it's comparing apples to oranges.

For me, I need a four-door with decent boot space etc. as I have a 8 and a 3 year old.

When my PCP comes to end in July, I'll be looking to price up a 530i (ideally a 540i) along with a 440i GC and the X3 M40i. And based on which one has the best deal and spec., I will probably go with that one.

In order of preference if money wasn't an object, I would say X3 M40i, 540i, then 440i GC.

The new 5 is just to big for me, I had an F11 and it went because navigating town centres and parking became tiresome. Great car if you do a lot of mileage though.

The weight of the 5 series makes 8 cylinder the ideal power plant. Even 540i seems lethargic.

Ridiculous how they list all the things below as “new for the M Sport individual model”, but only 4 of those things weren’t already standard on the M Sport! The 4 series would have to be massively cheaper than the G20 for anyone to consider buying what is a very outdated car now, Peugeot headlights and ridiculous looking grilles aside, the G20 will be a far better car in every way.

BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic paint
M Aerodynamics package
BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line
19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with mixed-size tires
Variable sport steering
Rear-wheel-drive models get M Sport suspension
Sports seats for the driver and front passenger
BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Opal White
Heated seats
M leather steering wheel
Lighting package
BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black
BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite (for Coupe and Gran Coupe)

Not those seats in the pics above though, not sure what car that is but it’s not the new 4 series.

My 440 is 3 years old in April. This isn't making me want to replace it.

S5 or C43 anyone? Or wait for the M340.

Mine too, I remember you getting yours at same time,

I've replaced with a 67 plate 335d touring,440i still on drive to VT'd in Feb.

Loved it, but I wasn't gettin new one, especially as no mppsk available anymore, the 335d is an interesting story which I will post when I have sorted it..

I'm waiting till I can get a m340i touring a year old...think I'll want to change before they bring out next gen m440i

Yeah it's looking likely I will be doing the same thing. Waiting for a good deal on a M340. I really don't see the point in this 4 series refresh seems a waste of time really. But I guess it flogs a dead horse.

I'm not sure I want to wait until 2021 or 22 for a M440.

When is the M340 available for order?

Dealers will have them in March for test drives apparently, so not long I guess.

Even the m340i?

I thought that was just the 3 series, m340i not out till summer, presuming with the release of the touring which is usually when they bring out the rest of the engine range.
