You peeked in the oven too early. Your cake hasn't risen yet. But unlike that, nothing's ruined. Your car is still breaking in, getting more efficient, and smoother as the months go on. For instance my old e90 335xi was more fuel efficient than my f30 335i, even with all its fuel saving tech. But I expect that to change after a year of driving. If I were you, and still paranoid about the tune, I'd drive the car hard and at 10k miles, get your oil changed, and then get the car re-dyno'd. As I hinted above in my own post, I'll likely re-dyno mine ( purely out of curiosity ) after 6 months or a year and after a few oil changes. I don't expect it to get much better however. Keep Calm Drive On

IMO I think it's stronger than 18whp and 30wtq. To me from my experience with tuned cars I think it's a 335/340 crank Hp and 350/360 crank torque engine. |

I think many stock cars are dynoing around 275whp/300wtq. It's tough to say what the crank should be since we don't really know the drive train loss, could be 12% could be 15%. You guys are making me want to dyno my JB4 stage 1 to see if it produces what BMS's car put out. 307whp/340wtq. Anyone else dyno'd a JB4 for kicks with no other mods? I guess proof could be in the pudding if you will, and take it to the track and run the 1/4 and hope I don't suck at driving. I think Nick keeps getting 13.2 on stock tires with his JB4 over here. |

I have the 6MT with PPK, but I don't hear the exhaust burble in Sport mode when shifting up (or down). Is that normal?
I do hear only a burble when I lift my foot from the gas pedal (so I leave it in a gear and I'm leaving the clutch alone). I'm driving PPK from day one, but I'm not sure it has been programmed correctly? |

I have an AT, but if I did my shift and mimic's my old manual days, yes, I will hear it. It's almost like a negative pressure thing.
Note that I also hear very faint whistling at certain throttle positions.

Update on my MPPK dyno results....
I originally posted my mixed feelings regarding the dyno #s I pulled a few weeks ago. My max WHP was 290hp and max wheel torque was 294 lb-ft. I was especially bothered about the torque #. Well, after thinking about the fact that my #s were done on a Superflow Dyno, I called the facility where the pulls were done and they gave me the "converted" Dynojet #s (I didn't know that was even possible). Anyway....my Dynojet converted values are: Wheel Hp: 304 hp Wheel torque: 308 lb-ft These seem to be more in line with some of the other MPPK dyno #s, but I'm still perplexed by the fact that my torque so closely matches my hp (every other MPPK dyno # I've seen has had MUCH higher torque). Oh well....just thought I'd share. |

I read most of the post and enjoyed everybody's comments. I have an E90 last of the sedans with the factory performance edition which is essentially a power pack with grills.
I got mine port install but test drove many E90s prior to purchase. This car replaces a 2008 M3 that I sold at the end of its lease and decided to get this sedan because of a 1 year old child. The performance pack Definitely gives this car serious low-end thrust as everybody's described. The standard mode in my car D has now become similar to a car without the PPK in DS or what you guys are calling sport mode. The only shortcoming in my car is the transmission it is a nice six speed automatic but it's too slow on the upshift. However, it is lightning fast when I stand on the accelerator I get a good downshift and immediate thrust forward. It feels even better than my M3 trying to downshift several gears at once. I'm looking into a Msport 435 to replace this car when its lease expires (child is now 3 and can climb in and out of her car seat) this fall and was considering an MP3 again but after driving my friends I realized I wouldn't be able to give up that low-end thrust. The M3 is an attack car and no matter how serious of an engine you put in that 435 it's never going to be an M3 that but that being said my style of driving now with the family I enjoy the low-end grunt much more than the M3 attack vehicle. If the sport automatic transmission and the variable adjusting suspension is as good as I'm hoping, the Msport 435 with power pack and sport brakes, sport automatic and variable suspension should be a pretty worthy opponents for moderate driving against an M3. For those of you that have the sport automatic and the PPK, how do you like it? is it is quick like a DCT. For those that have the variable suspension does it handle well when you're in sport mode?

Yeah that Limited slip sure is fun. I wonder if the dynamic handling package helps. When you order it on the 435 it comes with the variable steering system I have active steering on my current E90 and I really like it but that's with a hydraulic steering system not an electric so I'm not sure how that would work out anybody?

About to order my M performance power kit
I have been debating on purchasing this once I found out about in from googling about my new 2013 F30 335i. I would have added before delivery had I known previously. My best friend informed me about this forum/ website and it has been very helpful so far. I'm up to page 20 in this thread so I still have a way to go before I'm finished reading it all. To this point I am sold and impressed and will order this upcoming week if indent go on vacation. I had already had my M performance rocker panel decals and they look great. Can anyone tell me what I should expect to pay and what is fair labor install price from dealership. Had my dealership quote me $400. I already have decals installed so wouldn't need to pay for that again. I will try to attach a pic of the decals with this post.
