f30 SP engine oil instead of LL01 SN
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased Kixx G1 API SP 5w-40 engine oil from the market. I usually buy LL-01 5w-40 engine oil, which is recommended for my car, but this time I could only find the Kixx G1 API SP 5w-40 oil. The LL-01 oil is categorized as "SN," whereas the Kixx oil is categorized as "SP." Therefore, I would like to ask whether it is safe to use this new oil, and whether I can mix it with my existing oil (which has some leaks) if necessary. Thank you for your valuable advice. In general the API ratings like SP/SN/etc have no bearing on european oil.
So long as it is LL-01 or equivalently rated it's fine. Manufacturer approvals supersede API as well as ACEA standards. |
