Exclamation N20 Blow Off Valve

I have a 2015 328i with a Dinan boost controller, Injen intake, and bootmod3 tune. When I am driving in Sport+ (or sport) in 1st or 2nd gear and hit about 6-7k rpm my turbo flutters like it is from Fast and Furious for like 2 seconds. I wanted to do some research to see how I can get that sound (because who doesn't love it) when I let off around 4-5k rpm. So I got the conclusion that you block off your blow off valve and it would recirculate the air back through the turbo and you can get that sound basically whenever instead of that 'pshhhh' sound when letting off. So me and my buddy took 5 hours to get that done and in a few words... it did not work as planned because I lost basically the function of my turbo. So we just put it back to normal and reinstalled the valve and it is fine now.

Does anybody know another way to get that 'stututu' sound any other way? I can only hear it when I hit higher rpms. Aftermarket blow off valves won't do the trick from what I have seen. I know it is a smaller size turbo but it flutters fairly loud at high rpms.

*I know it's not the best for your turbo, don't mention it, I don't care, if my turbo gets messed up and my car explodes you guys will be the first to know!*

That flutter is air circulating the wrong direction into the turbo, not good for longevity.

As I said before I know what it does, I just don't care. I even put it in my post. So my question was do you know how to make it do that?

Reduce how much is vented to atmosphere or recirculated back in, find an adjustable bov if there is one for this car ( not familiar with the current offerings). G’luck!

Yeah, I will look more into that, there just isn't much info on playing around with the stock N20 turbo :/ and thanks!

The GFB (GoFastBits) DV+ is a diverter valve that comes with a stiffer spring than factory. If you install that you will get low rpm flutter. Here's a video. Just know that as the spring breaks in, the flutter will get quieter as the spring loosens and starts letting out more air, thus recirculating less into the turbo for that flutter. That said. I'm more curious about why you're getting flutter in the first place. I've never heard of an N20 fluttering unless it has an aftermarket DV...

Yeah, I would have already installed that but when I go for example on ESC Tuning it says it doesn't fit on a 328i, only the bigger engines. Do you think that it would work on mine?

Yo. So that video I posted up above is right after my DV+ install. I don't get it in park but I do get it if I'm high gear, low RPM and do liftoff the throttle after a quick blip.
