I should be smarter than this, but I'm confused. if I am using harness to install lc2->ms-1004-> under seats and p1022, do I need both connector 1 AND 3. seems like 3 is all that is needed

You need both connectors.

ha.....I'm a moron. I am ashamed that my brain couldn't figure out one was input and one out. that's basically not understanding 2+2.

I followed this exactly with my JBL MS-1004. The underseats sound awful. Sounds more like a terrible signal than an issue with speakers. These amp are a little different than others with there built in "DSP" so wondering if you have any experience with thses amps, Technic. They sounded great in my last two installs, but never dealt with MOST.

What are the crossover settings in that MS-1004?

I set the low pass on sub to 90 and the HP on the underseats to 80hz with no low pass. Tried both 12bd and 24bd. Amp can do any combo of 6/12/18/24 and frequency is damn near infinitely adjustable in 1hz increments (in case you weren't that familiar) But they sound awful. If I play them with no HP there is lots of full bass, but at certain frequency it just sounds like all distortion. Almost like its bottoming out, but if i increase the xover freq the music goes away but noise doesnt. Sub sounds nice, just have to get it blended. I will say the bass seems to drop out at 2/3 volume. I have put the underseats back on HK amp for now.

You need to bandpass the underseat woofers -60Hz to 150Hz would be fine.

I though i read for this 435 you just Hp passed them and let their normal cutoff occur. Well, either way, no matter the frequency played, the noise is still present. Like little burps.

Actually that was another thread you posted.....i Believe for a 335

BTW,Thanks for replying and trying to help.

What LOC did you use between the OEM amp and this MS-1004?

Lc2. Have 1 pair of rcas going from LC2 to input 1&2 on Amp. (JBL calls their inputs by separate channels as opposed to LrR) Have amp set for 1/2 input going to all outputs.

Just messed around with it again. Still have noise. Have "gain" on LC2 at min, noise GREATLY increases if I turn this up. Also notice it doesnt power off. Opened my trunk and everything still on. have power to LC2 from Loc plug and remote from cig style power port in trunk. So power plug is getting constant power.

Technic,
Thanks for quick delivery of the LC2i and PNP harness. I am looking forward to setting up my system.
Would you happen to know if the stock amp is providing full range signal to the front speakers? Or what frequency range is sent to various speakers?
I know that some cars, not necessarily BMW, send full range to the fronts, but limited frequencies to the center and rear speakers, even though there is a dedicated subwoofer.
I am considering options for my system. Any knowledge in this area is much appreciated. I do have the HK in the 2015 428, by the way.

Accessory/remote 12V turns on every time a door/trunk is opened, and turns off between 5-13 minutes after closing the doors/trunk and engine off.

Double check the wiring from the harness to the LC2i. There should be no noise at all. Use Main output on LC2i and no AccuBass.

I have a JL W6 10 inch ported sealed JL box in my trunk along with 500 watt JL amp. Bass knob installed in the pocket box next to the steering wheel. The bass is absolutely phenomenal, it can go all the way to rattling water off my license plate after a car wash

Only con is that the rear deck lid has partially rattled loose - I'll have to get it re-secured shortly from the shop.
