I think BMW says 3mm, but I think 3mm is too thin. If I had the wheels off, I would certainly replace them.

I'd change the front now, the rear are OK for maybe another year.

I'll have to decide which pads now I'm sure I read that teaston found the TRW pads decent for the rear?

I change mine at 4mm, once you get that low they fade a lot quicker.

Yes TRW, Pagid, Textar, Brembo will all give OEM Performance for much lower price. I put Ferodo DS Performance pads on the front for £100 as they give OEM levels of initial bite but with much better fade resistance.

Thanks for that, yeah I think I'll follow suit, how do you find TRW and Ferodos for brake dust?
