I have a cheap Cobra currently....and over the last couple of years, it has gotten absolutely ridiculous how many false alarms I have gotten when driving behind one of these cars (especially the Audis).

I was worried that, because the V1 is an older technology, it might not have the updated current hardware to be able to not get false alarms from other car's lane departure and collision distance radar systems.

Any info would be helpful!
Yes the V1 is older hardware, but they produce software updates to keep up with new technology. I'd hit V1 up to see what they have to say, their customer service is great. I've never had an issue with mine and I've owned it for 10 years.

Not to thread jack but do those of you with detectors find them that useful these days? I had an Escort 8500 that I had to turn the laser detection off on because whenever I honked my horn I would get a laser detection. I started using Waze and usually knew through it way before the detector went off. Finally I threw it in the trunk one time and never took it back out. I'm not being disrespectful, just curious. Its only a matter of time anyway before they start using cameras and toll tag technology to just time you between two points and send you a ticket when the calculated speed is over the posted speed.
