Arrow **SOLD** Sale - F31 '64 White 335d Touring Pro Nav, 115k miles

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-det...e&year-to=2024

Near Guildford, Surrey.

I've now got a company car, so my much loved car needs to go. My most favourite car I've ever owned by far!

New MOT. One advisory on it which I've got a quote for £230 including VAT.

It's not an urgent thing to do but have knocked this off the asking price.

No aftermarket mods on it.

£13,450 - Available and priced to sell.

Looks a good motor; what's the advisory though and why not sort it before the sale?

Genuine question; not picking...

I've passed your AT link onto someone over on Pistonheads that's potentially looking for a 335D touring FYI

Hi Dan,

Thanks for that, really appreciated. Pistonheads is on my list of places to post, as I'm not getting much luck with Autotrader.

I could do but when I spoke to the garage, they said that there's no rush. So thought I'd leave it up to the new owner. It might be something they could do themselves and it's not an MOT failure.

Here's what needs doing, though:

"Good morning

Sorry for the delay. The front lower front arm is £228.20 supplied and fitted
Lower arm £102.67+vat
Labour 1 hour £87.50 +vat

It is only an advise and does not need to be replaced yet but if you do decide to go ahead we are happy to carry out the
work for you.

Kind regards"

Ah yeah; that's an easy enough job. Always best to do both sides too as it's sods law the other will go not long after... Plus the new owner can fit arms of their choice and not go with what the garage may recommend (ie local motorfactors cheaper end etc)

Yeah it's a guy called Martin on the PH forums (mainly in BMW general chat); he's after a touring and torn between the F31 and F11, so I've sent him the AT link for yours to add to his 'potential' list etc

GLWTS; can't go wrong with a well looked after F31

Price reduced to £13,250

Anyone any idea why it's not been snapped up? Any feedback welcome...

I know I'm biased but thought I'd get at least £14-£15k for it, easily. I started off at £16k!!!

Price is very punchy given the mileage, esp for a private sale.

also there still seems to be a barrier for people who think cars when they hit 100k will explode.......

Mine did on the way back from the Highlands; walked home with the parts in tow

^^^

No idea why folk think that 100k miles is an issue; better the higher miles and a well looked after car than lower miles and neglected!

To the OP; it'll sell; but big diesels like big petrol engined cars aren't as wanted as they once were it seems

Have you popped it onto eBay as a 30 day classified for £20?

What abut Gumtree and Car & Classic (both free and worth taking advantage of)?

I still have a subscription to Parkers so I looked it up. Their guide price for a good private sale is £10500. That takes account of options and mileage. Of course you may get more but I would be surprised if you will get 30% more. Market has just dropped a lot.

I work in the trade and it's over priced for private sale.

Back end of At says that would retail for £13300 at a retailer / indy with comeback if something goes wrong. If I spend £13K with you no redress, big difference, unable to finance etc.

Trade values:

C: 8350
A: 7325
B: 6275
R: 10750

You have good spec but AT and the trade don't like 100K + miles for some reason.

Sound and looks like about £11-11500 to me private.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, really appreciated!

Yeah a chap came and looked at it yesterday and liked it but would want to do a fair bit of touching up on paintwork etc. So couldn't justify the price tag, which is fair.

I just can't believe how much the prices have dropped. You're getting a whole lot of car for £13k!

It's a shame as he seemed like he'd have loved it as much as I do... I'm too emotionally attached! Wouldn't be so bad if I was getting rid of it because of issues etc.

Thanks again

Looks like I might have to accept a slightly lower price....

Not tried ebay yet. Auto trader isn't getting me anywhere.

When I sold my good spec 330d F31 in 2019, it was a car I bought at 12 months old and had it for 4 years and had 80k on the clock. It was near perfect in all respects and I got £12,500 to the trade. Thought it was worth more but proved not to be.

Appreciate it was to the trade but if it had 100k+ on it it would have been worth even less. From memory I was trying to sell it privately for around £14,500 but had no takers. Always seems that values drop significantly once cars hits 100k.

Yeah I've just dropped it to £12,250, feel like I'm just giving it away now!
