Talking **ITS BACK** Active Autowerke 335/340/435/440 Exhaust Rev 2 Now Available!

Active Autowerke exhaust, one of the most popular systems for the F chassis is back!

Rev 1 sounded great at a very reasonable price, but it had minor issues with fitment.

Rev 2 is now available, sound and price that everyone loved are still the same. Fitment is spot on!

True BMW performance, durability, and attractive weight advantages with innovative features places the Active Autowerke BMW F3x 335/435/340/440 exhaust in a class of its own. This system is constructed from 100% Brushed 304-stainless steel and features adjustable 90mm or 100mm Active Autowerke double walled tips, making it ideal both for 2-door and 4-door models. The choice is yours.

Just like replacing the BMW factory rear exhaust, the Active Autowerke BMW Performance rear exhaust does it in much the same way, if not better by using a much beefier, heavy duty TORCA style exhaust clamp. TORCA clamps are known for their strength and sealing capabilities to make that tight seal.

Other cool features like height adjustable mounting tabs also help to make this exhaust very east to install.

The system is a straight-through design providing substantial improvements to gas flow over the factory exhaust. Gone is the factory flapper to change exhaust tones; this BMW Performance exhaust doesn't need gimmicks to accomplish baritones or suffer from problems like sticking flappers that will happen due to exhaust build up. Instead, the sound come out non intrusive, with a rich mellow tone and delivers a solid 15+hp, with key gains in the mid-range. Listen to the video and judge for yourself.

The Active Autowerke F3x 435i BMW Rear Exhaust System provides increase in BMW horsepower, great sound and appearance making it the choice for the avid BMW enthusiast.

KEY FEATURES:
  • Large mandrel bent piping for maximum flow
  • Durable, Brushed 100% 304 stainless steel for durability
  • Double-walled 100mm or 90mm Signature Brushed stainless tips
  • Adjustable Tips with Embossed Active Autowerke Logo
  • Improved power & torque throughout entire RPM band
  • Gains of 12-15 HP over stock configuration
  • Tight seal with use of TORCA style exhaust clamps
  • Height adjustable mounting brackets make installation easy
  • Factory curb weight 27.0 Lbs, Active 435i weighs 22.0 Lbs
  • Fitment for Coupe, Convertible and Sedans
  • Complete illustrated instruction manual
  • Two year warranty

APPLICATIONS:
  • Fits all F Chassis 335, 435, 340 & 440 (Rear wheel drive & X-drive)

Does this system have any drone on a 340i and are you sure it fits a 340i (AA doesn't show the 340i being listed on their website for this)? Do you know if it's much louder than the Dinan offering as well?

It fits the 340i. We own a 340i that this exhaust is currently installed on. I can't comment on drone in comparison to the Dinan unit but on an otherwise stock car there is minimal bass when cruising. The exhaust note is noticeable when accelerating and I would say that in comparison to many other aftermarket systems ours is on the quieter side when used with the stock downpipe.

Hi David, thank you for the feedback on that, I appreciate it. Looks to be a very attractive option to go with with Active-8 Piggyback

Actually, meant to ask do you have any pictures of the exhaust on the 340i? Mainly strait from the back if possible?

David,

So I'm finally getting around to ordering this. Last question, is this picture 90mm or 100mm tips. The pictures from the OP the tips look pretty big (100mm), this picture looks more in line with 90mm I assume?

Not that i know of.
Most keep stock midpipe and get catless downpipe + AA exhaust

Any soundclips w/ the B58 engine? I've only been able to find it on N54/N55 ... which makes me wonder if anyone's actually using it on the newer x40s.

Yes, I have it on my 340xi (no sound clips though).

Paired with the the ER catted DP, it sounds really nice under light load (nice growl, but not too intrusive). Full throttle sounds similar to the N54/N55 clips you hear. It's more of a "whoosh" sound under heavy load.

When I had it paired with the VSRF catted DP, it was LOUD. Cold starts were deafening, under light throttle, heavier load (aka climbing a grade at 50-60MPHJ) you could feel the vibrations through the seat, and everything in the glove box rattled. I ended up welding the OEM left flap back in the tip to address this during cruise.

Ooh do you think you could snap a quick video or soundclip? I'd love to hear it w/ the ER DP. I'm actually deciding between exactly what you've tried -- VSRF catted vs. ER catted. I was leaning towards VSRF due to price but I definitely don't want it too loud

Unfortunately, the car is parked right now. Sounds wise, the ER had a nicer refined tone.

Garage List
It'd be nice to have a clip of this exhaust paired with the AA catted DP
