Order Status 112 on same day car ordered?

After checking the tracking guide and timeline threads, it appears that it usually takes a number of days (if not a couple of weeks) to get to status 112 Scheduled for Production. I am surprised that my F30 335i M Sport got to status 112 on the same day the dealer placed the ordered (10/21). How could this happen?

they had an allocation available soon-- same thing happend to me a few weeks ago.

Your dealer probably had an allocation (a specific car that the dealer had ordered sometime ago) that was about to go into production. He just modified it to fit your specs. I ordered my 328d on a Tuesday and BMW showed it as going into production on the following Friday. If you use the BMWUSA tracking feature, don't be surprised if the specs for your car initially show up as different than the way you ordered it (different color, different options, etc.). That is the dealer's original specs. That will change to fit your order as the build process moves along.

The sales manager was talking about 90 days delivery but know I'm confident this would be less!

I switched after being a Global Imports customer for the last 5 cars--bc they couldnt come close to pricing that I was getting. Just found out from my CA that my car has no further updates yet-- so I'm assuming it didnt make any of the 3 ships that left yesterday morning, this morning, and this evenings....which sucks.

BMW 800 number says "Your vehicle is scheduled for prodcution with no confirmed prodcution date yet"

BMW website trackings says "We are currently processing your order and will inform you once your BMW enters production"

When & how would I get production week info? Does this still mean the dealer had an allocation?

you should be real soon--- mine said that for one day, and the next day it started production... also, just found out im on a boat already!!

wow good news

so you're trading in a 1 year old 335i for a 435i? I always prefered coupes but now that we're expecting our first baby in January I had to go for the extra doors, but thanks to the M Sport package the F30 still meets my expectations.

I was starting to think that status 112 without a specific production date means I should expect a wait before going into production... So the next update I'll see is production started, not a specific production date/week, right?

ha...i always had coupes..but the new coupe wasnt out when my lease was over so got rid of my E92, and got the F30 (its also a msport, so i was OK with it)--we were also trying for our first around then...so thought the 4 doors would be better...but a yr later, the coupes are out-- i love the look--and not having much luck with the baby :'( so im like whatever, I'm getting what I want...if baby happens then the wife has an X so its still ok.

112 means its scheduled for production ..next update you hear from the automated phone line should say "in production with an estimated completion date of ___"

& congrats on the baby by the way!
