I gave my 435i a much overdue wash and detail after Dinan intercooler, carbon fiber front splitter, Carbahn Stage 2 tune and spark plug upgrades.

Good work but note that ceramic coating won't adhere well when applied on top of all that, so it won't last nearly as long. Ceramic coating can last years but the surface has to be prepared, including stripping all wax first. Wax should also not be applied on top of ceramic coating.

Ceramic coating on top of a wax!????
You literally wasted the coating and potentially ruined or shortened the lifetime of the wax as well.

It is like oiling your wooden terrace and painting it on top of the oil.

You could potentially do the opposite - ceramic coating first and wax on top. That usually* (depending on the products) works fine. It has some disadvantages however.

Apart from that - Fusso Coat 12M is a fantastic wax with great properties and durability. My favourite.

I know. The first time i did it, i was told, how stupid that was. the coating only lasts about a year. but thats okay. Gives me a reason to work on the car again.

just got them installed on my 335i xdrive 2013, I replaced the top hats and gaskets at the same time, set them up at 0.9inch and I'm loving it. As a daily driver couldn't go too low especially the winters we have here on top of the streets quality 😭😭😭
however, it's a good choice I believe!

@FrankDK
An year!??
You wish. That would be if you do it somewhat properly. You should be glad if it lasts weeks.
Wait 2-3 months and strip everything down and do it right.

It would also be better if you decide between the 2 - either the wax, or the ceramic coating....
a good ceramic coating (applied properly!) is generally better, but the application is risky and the hydrophobic properties are not always that great.
Fusso Coat is relatively easy to apply, has excellent durability, very good hydrophobic qualities and most importantly - lasts almost an year (at least a for me it does).

As mentioned - you could do ceramic first and wax on top, in a couple of days.... but you lose the ability to rejuvenate your ceramic coating...
Not ideal either.

Good to hear about that! Do you have any pics of before/after?

I'll be doing b14's to mine as well, hopefully this summer, and Austin roads can be brutal. Luckily, I don't have to worry about the winters but potholes and poor roads in some areas but super excited!!

First thoughts??

Not so much today but this week.

Took my Nov 17 435D in for some warranty work as the brakes seems a little soft and there was a vibration on braking. Given a 218i as a loan car which frankly was an experience (not a good one) and did what i had to do for the day. Had a call late afternoon to say they had snapped both the front bleed nipples and needed to drill them out. No can do buddy - you snapped them, it's your problem now!

So had to keep the loan car for an extra day and endure about 500 agonising motorway miles but collected the car the following day.

Replaced under warranty:
New front M sport brake callipers
New front brake discs and pads
New rear brake discs and pads
Brake fluid change

Happy days

I'll check for the pics, it's very subtile drop I love it, how ever if I could I'd get an extra inch 😁. first thoughts, body roll is somewhat gone I guess with a strut bar you can be even more grounded, but perfect for the average man that I am, I finally feel the steering wheel not just marshmallows in my hands , all that to say that you'll finally feel, what a sporty bmw should feel the first place.

you going to love it.

Left it in the Upper West Side/West Village all weekend and by miracle no fuckface backed into it or opened a taxi door into the side.

For Easter, I put the 19" Bridgestone Potenza summers back on. April in the Northeast can be a gamble (hell even this past weekend was still parka weather) but I'm gonna be busy the next few weekends. The ride was noticeably stiffer again and I think the steering feels a bit better?

That's awesome I can't wait!!

I got to"test drive" an m4, it was basically for 5-10 min cause the salesman had better things to do I guess (not my fault he didn't have any of the other cars I wanted to test drive either)

Basically didn't let me do much like rip or turn hard but man the steering felt great, definitely wish our cars felt even slightly closer to that stock

Have fun with your new ride

In the past 2 weeks I've put in LED sequential turn signals, black grills, smoked side bumper reflectors, and installed 9 Bavsound speakers with sound deadening, and today I washed it. :-) 2014 328i. Seemed pretty productive!

Still have to figure out how to wire my Blackvue dashcam, paint correct, ceramic finish, have dealer figure out why App isn't working, then install MMI box (have to remove glove box, with that airbag, ugh.) It's a work in progress!
