Generals GS-MAX AS05!
I'm pulling the trigger next week. Tossing the crappy Bridgestone RFT Driveguards. Getting all 4 done for only $500. Who's had experience with these tires? Let me hear your input!

Last weekend I installed a set of 245/45r18s Gmax AS05s on 18x8.5 wheels replacing the OEM 19" staggered set up. Put about 600 miles on this week with about 400 miles round trip highway on Tuesday. Haven't really pushed them. Initial impressions: Ride is much better. Handling wise I can feel the tread squirm more at the limit and seat of the pants says there is less ultimate grip.
Great in the wet and some slush yesterday. Yes it snowed here yesterday. I think I have one wheel on the rear out of balance as I can a slight shimmy thru the seat. Haven't got to tire shop yet to check. |

I have about 8000 miles on my set of 245/40/18s, and have no complaints. I drive about 20,000 miles a year, and after wearing out a set of Continental ExtremeContact Sports last year, I decided to give these a try.
So far, they've handled my commute flawlessly. I'm expecting to get the 50,000 miles out of them that they're rated for. |

Just put these on my car last weekend for my summer setup, 245/40/18 with 18x8.5 Apex EC-7 wheels. I decided on these based on other forum member reviews here, which were all pretty positive. I can confirm that coming from stock 17in RFTs, they ride much smoother and quieter. Hopefully wont have issues with longevity. If you aren't going to have a spare with these, make sure you grab an air compressor and tire repair kit to keep in the car!
