Ebay Front Lip Spoiler

Has anybody tried this front lip spoiler off of ebay? I would like to see how it fit if anyone has installed it.

It looks pretty decent... and saves the chin of the car from scraping on steep driveways.

This is the one currently on my car. I'm going to replace it soon. My plan is to paint it with a dark gray primer, then cover that with black Plasti-Dip or something similar that I can easily touch up.

Thanks man. It does look good and can help save the front bumper. I am very aware of parking lot curbs. I like the fact that this lip is pretty minimal. I don't like the way over done ones that cover half the oem bumper. Can you post a pic of it straight on?

Garage List
I’ve been looking at that one too. If it’s still available in the spring, I’ll order one and try it.

I got one a while ago but never posted pics. Not bad for I think $105. I may paint it satin black.

Was this easy to install? Do you just clean, then use 3M tape and heat gun?

I wouldn't say it was easy but not too hard. There are no markings or guides so you have to align it your self. I did have to make a few extra holes in the underside of the bumper cover. No one will ever see them though. I wiped down the lip and bumper with acetone and used high bond 3m tape and several screws. I tried using as many oem holes I could. Like everything you just need to plan it out and take your time.

PS: I am not even lowered and there is one grocery store parking lot I go to a lot and I scrape a little. I have to go really slow there.

Thanks. I just ordered it. I’ll have a buddy help so hopefully we’ll have a smooth installation.

Just curious, does anyone think this lip would look good painted gloss black on an Alpine White 435 GC? Contemplating painting it vs leaving it as is

FWIW - use a nut/bolt type of fastener - DO NOT use screws and 3M tape. It won't hold.
I use a nut/bolt on my splitter which is 1 inch off the ground. Even hitting a parking block it did not come off.

I just received this. It looks and feels incredibly cheap and easy to bend. Flimsy! Not sure what I expected for $105 but I'm not sure whether to return it or try to install it.
Problem is, everything similar but made out of carbon fiber costs 3-5 times as much!

i had this on my 435i. its a nice subtle lip and easy to install. you do need to drill but if i can do it, im sure you can.
it was good in that it flexs and doesnt snap if you make contact with something.
i wish they had this for the f30

Did you use the already existing screws that hold the bumper and additional screws for the front of the lip? That’s my plan.

Yes. It does seem rather cheap but then it is. Once installed the fasteners will make it more rigid. You will need to drill a few holes. You can use a few existing holes but you will need to drill a few. Don't worry about it. No one with ever see them. I also used ultra high bond double sided tape. I must have used about 15-20 screws plus tape to secure this. You really need to line it up well before you start making holes. Once installed I really think it makes the car look more aggressive.

Thanks for the info.

I think I'm going to skip the tape as I don't see the point. The lip has holes that line up perfectly with the screws that currently hold the bumper so my plan is to take those out, attach lip, secure using those screws and then drill a few new ones throughout the front of the lip. Hopefully it will look good and be very secure.

Yep that should work. I did something similar but wanted to add the tape. I'm sure it will work fine. Post pics when done.

Just installed!
I think it overall looks pretty good and the car definitely looks more aggressive. Totally worth it for $105 with a 20 minute install.

EDIT: the lip might look a tad off in the pics, I had to re-adjust the driver side and now it's perfect!

my ABS plastic front lip lasted less than a month. have a new carbon fibre one on the way that isn't as low to the ground. hopefully lasts longer
