start up animation

Hey what's the trick of getting the start up screen to show up when putting on the car.
It's funny everytime I want to record it or show someone it just doesn't want to show up.

Not sure but think the ECU has to go to sleep before the animation will play.

let the car shut everything off.
close the door and wait for 15 min.

I've done all that, it was even locked overnight. First thing in the morning start recording it didnt do it

it's like when I dont think about it it shows up haha

After u unlock ur car hurry up and turn the ignition on u should b able to see it then.

I was doing some errands today and it came on everytime. but waiting a couple of minutes doesnt do it just sitting in the garage. I'm wondering it just have to be driven around hmph

ok, everything said above me is wrong wrong and wrong except for Jhnblckwood, as he said, if you want to see the start up animation every time, as soon as you unlock the car, get in and press the start button for ignition on, you have about 3 seconds to do this. If you sit and put your phone down, it's too late, that's how fast the idrive loads up.

Can't you just reboot iDrive (push/hold volume knob for 20-30 seconds) to get to that screen?

Is your last screen Navigation by any chance? I read somewhere that it will not show up if your last screen was nav, I don't know but worth a shot. GL

Same problem here... I see it like 10% of the time... that's pretty dumb

it's set at split screen radio/nav

Force restart on the head unit by holding the pushing and holding the volume knob in until the head unit shuts off and restarts... you will then have the animation you can record.
