Preparing F30 3 series for resale?

Hi Guys, haven't posted here in a while.

I'm trading my 3 series for a Tesla, and trying to find information about clearing out all the phone/address data and connected drive connections in the BMW in preparation for the new owner. A bit like what you would do if selling a used iPhone etc, so they have a clean slate.

Has anyone seen a guide or similar online detailing the steps to do this? I've done a bit of googling and couldn't see anything obvious.

I assume the new owner needs to contact BMW to establish a ConnectedDrive account and then link the car after that?

Have you tried the factory reset? I believe that clears everything.

Anything you've paid for on connected drive that is still active, will carry on to the next owner. The account is linked to the VIN, not to the member. The new member will need to activate their own account and link the VIN once the paperwork is completed by BMW australia.

Thanks, yes I found an option in one of the iDrive menus called something like "Delete all personal data".

That did the trick, deleting Address book, phone numbers, preset seat positions etc. The system prompted that it would take about 15 minutes and you have to exit the car and lock it for the process to complete.

At the end of this, the system was "clean" for the new owner. Sold the car today as it happens.

Ok thanks I will advise the new owner to contact BMW to create a connecteddrive
account and deregister the car from my app.
