M-Sport Paddles on Sportline Wheel - photos please
I currently have a Sportline wheel with retrofitted paddles (below) and want to replace the paddles with the M-Sport style paddles / extensions but I'm not sure how the skinnier paddles will look or how accessible they will be considering the sport/base airbags are much wider.
Can anyone who has upgraded their paddles on a sport/base wheel please share photos and any lessons learned or advice? TIA! Mods please delete this thread if several already exist, but for the life of me I can't find photos of what I'm looking for. |

I ended up purchasing extended paddles and installed them today. The install was easy and I'm very happy with the results.

Those look great, thank you for sharing. How do they feel? I went with aluminum because I was worried the carbon paddles might not feel substantial enough.
I was more curious about how people with the base or Sport Line wheel like the extended paddles. |

The install was easier than anticipated, it took less than an hour total including removing the airbag. I installed the paddles while the wheel was still on the car which was a big time saver. To remove the airbag, I use the method of removing the top and bottom steering column cowling, laying under the wheel, and pushing the clips off from the back of the wheel...it takes about 5 minutes and I find it is much easier than pushing a screwdriver through the slits on the bottom of the wheel. When removing the stock paddles, use a pick tool to push out the small cylindrical pin on each paddle. When pulling the paddles out, do it slowly because there is a small spring and plastic piece that come out, you'll need to install those (and the pin) with the new paddles. Lmk if you need any help. |
