Updating EVO map in Mini

My November 15 build Mini has Media XL which is essentially the same as pro navigation in the F3x. The maps have never been updated from their initial EUROPE EVO 2015-3.

For some reason unlike BMW Connected, you can't simply buy and download an updated map from the official Mini Connected site. You have to visit a dealer. I have requested a price for this, but it's almost bound to be ridiculous as it will include a labour charge while someone stands around watching it slowly update! Not sure why they make this more complicated with Mini than BMW.

Where can I download the latest EVO map, and is it likely to work without an FSC code? If it needs a code I would prefer to buy it than have to interrogate the car via a laptop.

Thanks

There's a few sites knocking about that you can torrent the map off. I just did ours a month or so ago. Ours is less than 3 years old currently though, I believe once past that date you'll need a FSC code.

Just one word of advice, don't pull the stick out too soon at the end like I did first time round. Thought it had finished when it hadn't and had to wait another 45 mins!

Try Simon at Bavarian coding.
He can probably sell you a lifetime FSC map update code & provide a link for the map download. It will be cheaper than going to Mini.
