MPPSK banned in Europe. Bring back MPPK.

Now that it's banned, the tune should be sold without the exhaust. What do you think?

Say again?
MPPSK is NOT banned in Europe! Check your sources! Fake news!
(Or rephrase to make it true)

I heard loud exhaust was banned in the EU.

Could be aftermarket downpipe or straight pipes that are banned. I can see that. The m performance exhaust is not loud enough to be a nuisance when attached to stock downpipe.

Very misleading.
There are 2 aspects that do or may affect MPPSK in the future:

1. Introduction of PF which is incompatible with MPPSK (or rather the other way around). Currently, there is no MPPSK (or any alternative) for the newer MY2019 variant which features PF. It is also unclear whether there will ever be due to the nature of PF. If and when - it will probably not be the same anymore.

2. A potential EU legislation that will forbid cars to be modified to be noisier. Changing the sound will still be allowed, as long as the noise level of the original type certificate is not exceeded in any driving mode.
I don't know the details here, but first of all it is not yet enforced and second I don't think it will have (equal) validity in all countries.

Either way I had my MPPSK fitted just last week Nothing banned yet, fortunately. But I must confess I did do it earlier than originally planned to avoid trouble if things change

And the article is misleading and contradictory within itself!
"The exhausts are not legal in Europe and are therefore not being sold anymore in Europe" - further down in the screenshot "... from Production Date 07/2018"

Ref what I wrote above, point 1.

MPPSK is still being sold as retrofit kit for vehicles without PF (prior to MY2019) - I got mine in Germany last week, other member here just got one in UK today.

So stay calm and ignore fake news. (I should probably also tweet about it.)

So what else does the EU have jurisdiction over vs member countries' jurisdiction? It seems the states in the US have more say than each country in the EU in governing themselves.

Regardless of the finer details, it appears the eu is regulating exhaust noise to some extent. Don't worry, legislators are hard at work sucking any remaining joy out of life, until everyone lives to work and comply like a hive of worker bees.

In every area. Membership requires subordinating your country's laws to those of Europe.

No-one seems to care though.

Banning in Europe things that the rest of the world enjoys, "just because", is sure worth at least a couple of smileys, don't you think?

Yea, but they get cooler cars like the F31 in the 340 model, the 1 series, and other things we do not get.

Really...? Banning a sub-product vs nearly banning import of (nice) cars altogether...?
Definitely worth more than just a few smileys
