To the black 430i driving like an ass on the 605N carpool lane, flicking me off and honking because I slowed down to avoid rear-ending the car in front of me, then tailgating me at 70mph for a few miles all the while your passenger flicking me off, then illegally exiting the carpool lane on a double line and then swerve across 2 lanes and back just to get in front of me all while cutting people off, crossing the carpool double line twice, and generally driving like an asshole.... have a really really really really nice day.

To whoever M4 tailgating me on the right lane AT 405 yesterday. DID you like how I drive? ... don't follow me of you don't want to drive at speed limit😁. Usually you see me on the first 3 right lane, not on the left lane (fast lane). Go change change to the left lane. The freeway is empty.

I think it was my awe quad exhaust he was trying to get a good look at🤣

I honestly think there is a lack of respect when we go up and down the bimmer lineup. I was in my i3 when the 430i was harassing me. He probably thought I was just another hipster tree hugging snowflake in a german Prius. I have a feeling he would have been less of an ass if I was in my M3. Likewise, this M4 driver probably felt a sense of entitlement and felt he could ride you. OR he just wanted to say 'hi' in his own strange way.

To the black M4 behind me, heading south on the 5 today, license 8BSS172, you were so close to me when changing lanes I thought that you were trying to pit maneuver me.

I was like, ok whatever, maybe I'll get to hear your exhaust. Then I proceeded to watch you [very slowly] cut off about 5 people back and forth, without using your turn signal a single time, and jamming yourself into spaces where there clearly wasn't room for a car (subsequently, causing me to have to brake very hard due to the cars in front of me being cut off).

You pissed off about 6 people in a span of 2 minutes, to get a couple cars further ahead.

It's interesting reading this thread because BMW drivers always seem to be respectful around me on the road... like we're on the same team or something.

..or maybe it's because if they get too close I'll just downshift and let my fumes pop right in their face

LOL yup! When I drive and see other BMW owners, it's like an unwritten code of brotherhood. I'll let them in the lane or vice-versa. And you know in LA, letting someone in your lane is a big thing. Haha!

I'm usually quite courteous to others regardless of what they drive, but modified BMWs especially... mostly because I just want to get a look. I find that in my i3 I generally get the same courtesy in return from all drivers, but in my M3, unless they are also in a BMW, I do not. I think the quiet little EV that could is more relatable than a snarling lowered M3 with CF bits here and there. Subarus and Mustangs seem to have the most to prove, although I've never seen a Forester harass anyone like STIs and WRXs. I've owned 3 Foresters, and going fast isn't what they are built for.

I'm more-or-less the same way. If the roads are relatively open and I feel like revving a little higher I will, but if anyone needs to get over, I tend to let them pass unless it would be more dangerous to other drivers on the road to do so at that moment. I definitely do have a slight bias towards letting other BMWs over though.

I actually had a little "Subie wave" type moment on the 405 with a modded M4 on the way back home from getting my downpipe installed. Solid 10 miles of pure burbles from both of us

At the same time, if I feel like taking it easy, I'll keep right and take it easy. But for some reason at the wonderful times when LA traffic isn't going anywhere and neither am I, I've noticed that people who are driving Foresters in particular tend to tailgate me as if I have an open road in front of me and we're on a single-lane street. Wish I had a better explanation. LA is a weird place.

BMW drivers are too diverse to have a "Subie wave" type of connection. Most of the bimmer i see during my commute are middle age ladies.

I would prolly get #MeToo'd if i were to wave at them lol.
