"Dipping" wing mirrors

Guys, do you have to have the folding mirror option ticked to get the wing mirror to "dip" when reverse is selected?

It was a really useful feature on the demonstrator car I tested, but that had electric folding mirrors.

Cheers

I have electric folding mirrors and if you move the sliding switch on the drivers door arm rest, you can either activate or de-activate it.

The demonstrator did not have electric seats.

Are you saying you don't have electric mirrors, but you do have the dipping wing mirror?

Have the mirror selector (on the arm rest) set to the drivers mirror, this "should" allow the passenger mirror to dip in reverse. If the selector is set to the passenger mirror, then it will not dip...

I have dipping left mirror but don't have leccy seats. I do have folding mirrors though.

Try sliding the left/right selector for the wing mirrors to the right position then shove it in reverse.

This is know.

That was not the questions though.

Do you know if this feature is part of the folding mirror option, or comes on all cars?

Ahhh, my apologies, I thought you were asking HOW to make them dip. I do not have folding mirrors on my car and they dip. I believe this is a standard feature on Bimmers.

Sweet.

Do you have an F30?

It is not a feature on my LCI E92

Having said, that.... I have long suspected that there is something wrong with my passenger side mirror...

No sir, I have an E92 and it's standard on every one that I've driven. I've yet to see a BMW not have it.. Strange that your LCI E92 wouldn't.. Sure it isn't broke?

You either need electric memory seats or electric folding mirrors on the E90 in UK. I believe the F30 is the same. May well be different in other countries.

Do we have any members who don't have electric seats or electric folding mirrors who could tell us of they have the dipping mirror?

My demonstrator had folding mirrors. The passenger mirror dipped when reverse was selected in the 8AT.

Edit. Sorry, missed the 'don't'...

My f30 does not have electric seats, does not have folding mirrors and my mirrors do not dip in reverse....... which is very annoying!

I'm told by me dealer that it cannot be coded either.

I went for them as they are marketed as dimming. Ideal for night driving. Folding and dipping for parking are bonuses.

My sister had an e92 320d, her mirrors didn't dip... I don't believe they're standards on the 320's and smaller engines. Maybe just the 330's & 335's
