SPL Lower Control Arms for Camber and Track Width Adjustment

One of the popular modifications for RWD cars is retrofitting F8x M2/3/4 wishbone/LCAs. This provides more negative camber due to the extra length of the arm.

Other benefits of lengthening the wishbone/LCA are increasing caster, and increasing the track width. The caster increase helps maintain higher negative camber when the wheel is turned, and increased track width reduces roll on that axle. For reference, BMW increased the front track width on G8x by 1.5" over F8x.

While the adjustments with the F8x arms are fixed, the SPL wishbone/LCA has adjustable length to allow for dialing in the amount of camber and track width gain you want. Here's an overview on these arms, their features, and how they work.

Hi, thanks for the video.

Do they last long? Also, can you get about -2.5 deg without rubbing tire (because of caster)?

I drive 220d (2014, F22) for daily and track. I do 25.000Km per year and 3-5 track days.

I have ST XA coilovers installed and recently got a set of Millway street camber plates. But apparently i guess they dont work together or fit, because there is excessive noise on small road details.

What do you suggest?

Having another camber plate, or LCAs?

Thanks

Ps: i have 8x18 ET34 wheels with 225/40/18 square tire setup

Given that these lower arms would also affect other aspects of the geometry, not just camber and track width, it’s a ‘must’ that people do their research first.

We know the problems that fitting longer LCAs from the F80 has caused on some/several F3X cars.

Camber plates typically provide for camber adjustment without significantly affecting other aspects of the geo which could be problematic such as tyres rubbing on the wheel liners.
