Passenger restraint fault (disconnected overhead console)

I removed the headliner today to add some additional sound deadening, without thinking I didn't disconnect the battery. IDIOT!

After disconnecting everything from the headliner including the passenger airbag light in the overhead console, I've sprung a passenger restraint fault code once everything was back together and with the ignition on.

I've got a foxwell nt510 scanner so I searched for any faults and reset, but no joy.

I then tried to connect to the airbag module using the scanner, the scanner threw a fault saying "no communication, can't connect to module".

Does anyone know how to reset this fault?

My scanner did this as well. I went as far as contacting the company but while waiting on them to respond I tried it again and pressed the button a few time where I was getting the no communication messages and it allowed me to get into that module and clear codes.

I tried getting into that module several time and always got the no communication message before it let me into it.

Interesting...

Did you just keep trying to read the module or hit any specific buttons on the error screen, thanks

I know this really is not a for sure fix for your problem but yeah while on the screen that shows that module I just kept trying to get into it. I think I might have hit the button 3-4 time in a row and it let me in.

Kind of disappointed in the scanner. I had removed my passenger seat and drove without it for a couple of days so that stupid light came on.

Thanks appreciate the help,

I found this post recommending to save all the logs after a scan, I'll see if this works and report back tomorrow.

Keep trying to scan and reset the code. I had the same when I disconnected the console with the ignition on. Took several attempts to connect with my Foxwell NT510 to clear it. Finally worked and cleared it.

Thank you both,

I was sceptical the 3rd time I tried to read the module, but on the 4th time it let me in to reset the fault.
