13 F30 TPMS Issue

This is an odd one. Just had the sensors replaced (10 yrs- batteries dying). Tech excited them and all registered as active. Went to drive away. As expected, initially, readouts were blank for .1 to .2 miles, then i get a TPMS Malfunction alert. Then after .8 to .9 of a mile, it clears and displays correct pressure and temp. This is repeatable multiple times, varying by not more than a tenth. Tried performing a TPMS reset via i-Drive with same result. If i turn off the car and restart before the electronics go to "sleep" the TPMS continues to perform correctly. But if the car has gone to "sleep", the process repeats itself. Will be taking back to shop later this week. Anyone ever see this anomaly? I'll read any codes tomorrow when I get home.

Did you do a full reset? It takes at least ten minutes and must be done while driving.

I've preformed the normal TPMS Reset and continued to drive for 50 miles at speeds in the 70-80 mph range. The system aways works correctly after it goes though the gyrations i described. I'm unaware of a more detailed/involved reset procedure.

Did you fit genuine parts or aftermarket?

Do you get any other warnings coming up? What’s your battery charge level like? My F36 had a spell of when I got in sometimes it would come up with bonnet open, gearbox warning and tpms inop and would clear after a short drive, sometimes only the tpms had a wealth of canbus faults storing for lost communication with the instrument cluster. Touch wood after a full charge it hasn’t occurred again.
