2018 340i Deal?
hey canadian friends. potential new bimmer owner here--mostly sold on the 340i but realize my timing may be off for a decent deal. just looking for advice on the attached deal. can i expect to negotiate a much better deal than this on a 2018? i would go for a 2017 but there are no 6MT rwd models in inventory. i realize this quote has xDrive and says 2017 but that's because salespeople don't listen if i ordered today it would be ready in december. i probably won't move forward on the purchase if a better deal isn't available. just don't believe the car is worth $900+/month tax in. prefer a shorter term (36 or 39mo) as well.
also posted this on the general "post your deals" for some advice there. we should have a "post your deals" sticky here as well i think. -say no to mats & wheel locks charge (after all, you are leasing. Why pay for them, either have dealer throw them in for free or you can go to Cdn Tire and get your own for at least 1/2 price)
- shoot for 6%. 3 series have always been discounted for such at most dealers as this is their volume selling cars. - if you don't drive 24,000km per year, then go for a much lower mileage allowance which will result in saving you some $ over the course of the lease term You need to clarify what is the amount due on delivery to avoid any hidden fees to be charged at that time. PPSA fee + full tank of gas + license fee are all usually collected on delivery day at some dealers |

HI Matteo88
I got a 2017 340 xi 6MT on July 17th with: white on black (blue contrast stitching Prem essential M Perf 1 and 2 It was about $648xx but i got $3000 adjustment Incentive $3500 Lease rate of 0.9% While my old car was a trade for $2800 to cost of all that i used for pickup my lease is for 4 yrs and 16000km per year it was $588 a month or $645 after tax. If you don't plan on getting the Digital Dash as an option, there is really no point if getting the 2018 at a high rate and less incentives. |

any advice regarding when to pull the trigger on this? should i just wait for 1.9% financing to come in the late winter/spring? do residuals change much as time goes on? i do need 24k kms as i currently average 25K per year. have a sales job that requires me to drive everywhere. 95% of the mileage is highway--too bad that doesn't get me a discount when i get closer to pulling the trigger i'd push for a minimum 5% discount from MSRP. thanks for sharing your deals--$3500 and 0.9% are big factors. its what got me to start looking more seriously but i missed the 2017s by a bit unfortunately.

yeah check this out... looks like it's part of "executive package" only but that sounds like a US thing. i have the 2018 order guide for canada and it is only stated as an option on the 330e and 330i xDrive as part of a ZQ2 M Sport Edition II package...

If you want the 1.9% for 18, you are going to have to wait a long while, perhaps in December, but don't forget residual will also be lowered by December as well as the car model year ages/depreciate. I would think there would be some sort of Xmas factory credit to go along at that time too.

My deal is kinda shitty compared to some of them out there but that's cause I had some negative equity carried over from my M3 ($5K I was told).
2017 440i xDrive Gran Coupe Premium essential M Perf 1 and 2 (which is what I wanted and this car was more $ than most others of better colours I liked such as Estoril Blue) 48 months 16,000 km's Just around $950/month all in That being said my dealer offered to switch me out in a year to any vehicle (including same but brand new if I wanted) without any penalties and extra costs regardless of how much mileage I put on it in a year. Presumably at that time my monthly payments will go down as I won't have any carried over negative equity like I did with my M3. And that's exactly my plan, if I find something else I like I will lease that otherwise even get a brand new 440 instead. Now I understand that 440 isn't exactly 340 and it's slightly more $ I think but hopefully this helps somewhat. |

As you know, I was in the same boat not too long ago. But i'm a proud new owner of a 2017 340XI for a week now. Everything has a price; including a manual transmission.
Found out my price was $7500 since I ended up signing for a 8AT 2017 for a $7500 rebate. 0.9% + $7500 rebate vs. 3.9% full price is the exact price, monthly, for my manual transmission. As much as I love MT, I realized that for $150 every two weeks, I could at least "try" to live without that third pedal. We'll see in a couple months.

Jokes aside, $7,500 off is definitely a good deal for a 340i with the MPPSK. It's quicker too

for sure. parkview had an EB on black 340i RWD 8AT demo with M performance I on it that i test drove. they were trying hard to sell it to me but weren't giving any sort of deal on it... i was thinking if it was around 650-700/month on a 3 year lease i might bite the bullet and give up my manual but pretty sure i still really want that manual lol.

I negotiated mine recently and a 2-4% price adjustment is pretty par for the course. For it to be a good deal you have to go >6%.
I really miss manual. |

Definitely. Enjoy it more and more everyday. It was my first AT BMW tho; my past ones were manual; so the whole BMW auto tranny thing was new to me.
It felt like the 6mt and the 8at have two completely different behaviors. The 6MT felt like my old e90, but on steroids; as the 8AT really had that euro feeling with really short speeds and snappy throttle / paddle response. You still get 95+% of the control you have on the MT; thanks to the paddles and quick shifts. But performance wise, a human being will never be able to shift that quick lol. This really is the first 5-digits-car AT transmission I drive that is worth mentionning.

Yep; auto rev match removed a lot of the fun-factor on the 6MT for me...
