Plus, AWD + snows is less likely to get 'stuck' than RWD + snows. I have the snow tires + wheels already picked out on tire rack. I've had good snows before, but there's still limits. Stopping is rarely the issue if you're driving smart. Having enough traction to 'plow' through snow is a bigger issue, and doubling the traction area by having AWD is a big help. (If you go too fast and hit a snow bank, neither's gonna help you much. But more drive traction is good for slowly powering through the mess.) |

My dealer conversation started with me giving him my VIN (x-drive car) so he could check the system for the correct part. He said it's available. Also, when we finalized the order today he said full payment was needed as no exchanges are allowed - the MPPK serial number is tied to the VIN of the car. I guess we'll see because install is supposed to be next Tuesday.

Here is what I heard from getbmwparts.com. It sounds like it's one size fits all, dealers are just confused currently. A little annoying since my dealer basically won't order it for me, but I guess to be expected with new product releases.
Part # 11122444531 is what’s listed in the BMW ETK (parts catalog) – but, from time to time, the part # BMW actually releases here in the US changes…in this case they’ve released it as 11122408981 per the BMW parts bulletin that was just released. (It’s no surprise when most dealerships don’t read their bulletins.) I’m 100% sure this kit is correct for your vehicle and vin. The m performance power kits/software and exhaust systems have always been the same no matter if the vehicle is a RWD or xDrive vehicle…this is no exception. |

Cool. I spoke to someone at BMW NA and they confirmed what I posted above, one kit. So I think my dealer (and maybe some others based on this thread) are just confused at this point.

Moving target based on actual time but it won't be more than $3,375 with tax (capped). They think it will be about $3,200 and change - tax, install, SS tips. We r almost 8% sales tax in MN. And they will set me up with a loaner for the day in case software goes a little long.

Can anyone provide a before/after sound clip from INSIDE the car? Part of the reason I'm moving from the E90 M3 to the 340i is that it will be less raw/quieter inside. How does this MPPSK change that? My F30 will arrive in December (due to Individual paint) so I have time to do this as PIA if I like it.

Ok, I got rock-solid confirmation from BMW NA that there is just one kit and it works for all 340/440 variants, xDrive and RWD. The parts system that the dealers use has not been fully updated to reflect the right part numbers, so some dealers might be confused about availability. If your dealer tells you the kit is not available for your car encourage them to read the bulletin and check with BMW NA.

So, my dealer is quoting me MSRP of $3195 for the kit, plus $300 for the chrome tips. That doesn't seem to match the MSRP in the first post. They sent me a build sheet / vehicle inquiry with that price as the MSRP though. I'm a bit confused by that.
