Hey Guys,
I'm new here so bear with me. I got my rear bumper painted months ago and it is a noticeable difference. Should i ask the shop "bimmers only dallas" to repaint for a closer match? At the time i was advised it will start to blend over time and there will never be a perfect match. Its only seem to have gotten worse. Any suggestions?? Halp! |

they are bullshitting you. The body shop I goto has never said this to anyone, and no one has ever complained new paint mismatch unless you're talking about plastic vs metal paint discrepancy. This shop must use cheap equipment for repainting, so it doesn't turn out properly. but yes, please take more pictures from all angles.

How is it different... bumper shade to the body panel?
Have you detail or buff and wax the entire car. It could be imperfection on the body paint since it's old and the new bumper finish might be mixed to the original paint code. Some paint shop use code already in the computer to mixed the paint to match the car. |

back in 2005 I had a new white 350Z, the bumper was really a different color to the body and that was on every 350Z. But our modern BMWs... no, my F32 bumpers have identical paint as the chassis, so I don't think that's the issue. If it were, the OP would have noticed it from day 1 before he had it repainted.

You can see the lack of paint on the panel, and the potential lack of pearl and clear. I'll bet they just color matched on a single stage paint and told you it will all be ok after 30 days, and the warranty is probably 30 days. Demand perfection! I would also like to see some outside angle shots, I'll bet it's even more obvious. |

Right. I wasn't expecting perfect, but that's an obvious difference. Makes it look ugly imo
