Worrying as the current 5 series (and especially the current M5) are stunning imo

550e or the i5 M60 might be a good shout when they release the touring. Doesn't seem like too much of a change in design to the current one on first glance.

Doesn't look too bad, I was expecting the grille to be hideous, oh my, the M Sport variant one certainly is, but the standard one looks 'okay'.

I can see the i5 doing really well against Tesla and even the Mercedes EQ range.

I'm not shocked by the grille anymore. The side profile looks bland. I don't like the flush door handle approach taken by carmakers...If they have split headlights like the 7 I'll have a cry

Pretty crazy huh, I find it unbelievable in 2023 that a self proclaimed luxury vehicle brand charge thousands of pounds extra for luxury seats in a car which starts at £75k. At least the extras arnt on a subcription basis yet.

Plenty of cringe...selfie..games...vagianza..
Interior looks great. Exterior better than eqe and models s. Proof of the pudding will be how it drives and its comfort level. If they nail that 75-80k ain't too bad given so called 'shitbox ev's' were at their peak just under 60k? And current left hand drive model s inventory is just under 100k?

It’s silly isn’t it, my F10 is too long for most of the spaces it’s been in so far! Let alone the newer models....

96k for the i5 M60 is ridiculous. £113k when spec'd to what I'd want and that's before they add on the extra for wanting a touring.

The black shiny plastic grilles are, in my humble opinion, hideous... and BMW UK seem to want us all to be stuck with them, with no option, on some cars which, in other markets, do have an option... Like the M340, which has the option of a different grille treatment in other markets but, oh no, not the UK where we get what we are given, and apparently that has to be black plastic and shiny...

ps - as well as being stuck with tinted glass in the rear...

Ah Dave SPG hate! Forgot about that.
Yes black plastic looks of when clean and sporty on a BMW. PITA to keep clean, especially on the Ms where it’s essentially the side skirt!

I actually ordered sensatec in preference to vernasca. It felt softer and more comfortable to sit on, also perforated. That's on an i4.

Agree Doug. Bit eco these days snd I don’t think I’d pay for upgraded leather in future now.

Just having a little rant-ette here, don't mind me...

I just don't like the idea that BMW UK are moving towards a standard specification for vehicles whereas the great thing about BMW's in the past was that they were quite customisable... We're just heading for an homogenised product for a market sector that is anything but...

But... BMW UK can sell 'em anyway so why bother about the folk who they are unlikely to see to, right..

The black grilles are not actually universally hideous, I was being somewhat "dramatic" (although they are on this 5)... There is a 128tii around here in white with black grilles that looks very smart indeed.. especially as it is habitually cleaner than mine...

Agreed, BMW isn't so bad as Mercedes though. I'm cross shopping an X5 LCI with GLE and on the GLE you can choose one of three 'spec tiers' and then the interior and exterior colour and add a tow hitch, that's it. Doesn't work for me, I'd need to take their top 'AMG Premium Plus' spec but that forces 22" black alloys
