BMW F30 Ambient Lighting Set

Hi,

I have F30 with no lines, but I have lighting package on the car. I didn't have options about Ambient Lighting on the Idrive before coding.

I have coded my car with below codes,

HU_ENTRY, COLOUR_SWITCH, Activ --> it was no active, I have changed to aktiv
HU_ENTRY, COLOUR_SWITCH_LINES, sport --> it was no active, I have changed to Sport

I can see Ambient Lighting menu with Classic and Sport on Idrive after coding. I'm choosing Sport light from Idrive but I can not see near the Ambient set Sport or Classic when I choose Sport or Classic. it's empty.

I think that it should be like following,

I can see and choose Classic and Sport under the Ambient menu. but I'm seeing the like following, so it's empty.

What can be the problem?

Thanks in advance,

You may just have the orange ambient light. If I remember right, only the sport line and m-sport got the sport lights, that's why we didn't get the air bag light the head rests.

Another reason is that you may not have had ambient lighting at all, which is why you didn't have the option.

Yes, I have just orange ambient light, I have tried to open sport ambient. but not works. I wonder that my problem is coding or hardware(led) is not support it.

Switching between the two makes so little difference. Personally the option is a not worth the effort.

Orange light is better anyways, classic BMW. I tried the white light and didn't like, but that's a personal preference of course.

As far as I understand, you coded your car to open white light without no line.

How did you try white light? Also I want to try it.

Thanks,

Ok, I see, you already have two colour options due to sport line package.

Bryan06,

I have 2014 no-line F30. Ambient lighting is only one color in my car, orange. Originally, I wanted to be able to change between white and orange; but now, I actually find that orange quite good because at night as it does not affect my night vision and matches the night time color of the dashboard & HUD (which change to white during daylight).

As everyone said, if you have a no line CIC, the entry for ambient lighting is under HU_CIC under colour switch and the ability to change lines from not aktiv, sport, xline, modern, and luxury and have the option to change the color show up on the display but will not do anything to actually change the ambient color.

I’ve figured out the coding.. my f30 only had the orangelight. Now with coding i’ve managed to switch between orange and white. But i have to say when you switch over from orange to white, you don’t have the leds on the cupholders, doorpanels etc.. unless you replace them. (Cause there is no white led in it..)

Changes need to be done in (with esys):

FEM
CS_typ Change to two_colours
PIA_DEFAULT_CD change to Frabe_2
MAPPING_LCI_7_FUNCTION change to cs_2

Hu-nbt
Colour_Switch set to aktiv
Colour_Switch_Lines set to sport

And there you go.. you can now switch in your idrive from classic to sport and the light will change..

I retrofitted the door strip led, but it is not changing those colors from red to blue. It only changes the AC/Radio Trim panel. Any ideas?
