Can anyone post: F30 w/ 18's lowered?

Ideally, I'd like to see what a 2018 330i xDrive sedan looks like lowered with stock 18's (can be aftermarket 18's, but the main thing would be that no other body work was done).

Seems most people bring up wheel size while bringing down the car....but if you've got a picture of such a vehicle, I'd love to see it posted here.

Thanks ary...I've never really seen or paid attention to the "before and after" of those front lips. Does it just adhere to the existing lip?

4 series but you get the idea. Makes the 18s look way better.

18s yes but the 400M.. there is no helping that wheel for me. I think your current setup is where it's at.

OP, you can trick the eye a bit by upsizing the sidewall. I went to a 235/45/18 on an 18x8.5 wheel for winter and here's how it sits stock height on my 335xi.

Some suggestions.

Get yourself an inexpensive caliper from a place like Harbor Freight so u can accurately measure your wheel well height to the top of your tire and top of your wheels. Or you drive yourself crazy eyeballing it. Get measurements at all four wheel wells before you make any changes. You must have a baseline to work from. A) bottom of fenderwell to top of wheel. B) with straightedge across top of tire: bottom of fenderwell to bottom of straight edge.

Actual tire diameters vary a lot. What's stamped on the sidewall is meaningless. TireRack actually measures diameter of each tire and it's in the Specifications section for each model and size of tire they sell. Tire diameter directly effects the drop that your eye sees. When I was choosing a tire the range of tire diameters that had to choose from varied by 15mm/ 0.6" which is a lot.

225/45-18 stock
235/45-18 a little better ride
245/40-18 best handling
245/45-18 best ride, highest sidewall, appears like biggest drop

You must allow for any change in diameter of new tires when you are planning a drop with new springs or coil overs.

If u r changing springs you must change dampers at same time because stock dampers don't work well with springs that are even slightly stronger.

X-Drive Springs:
Eibach (-06 part#) F0.8" drop, R0.6" drop
About 10% stiffer than stock

Dinan about 0.75" drop all around
About 30% stiffer than stock

Bigger Drop Springs:
(You get into bump stop and damper piston travel issues with bigger drop springs)

Eibach (-05 part#) designed for RWD

H&R about 1.5" drop

Coilovers are a whole different animal. Some things to consider are cost, adjustability range, stiffness of springs, ability to adjust dampers, and if height and dampers can be easily adjusted on the car or if they have to be removed to adjust.

Attached is a quick photo of my xdrive with Eibach xdrive springs and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 245/40-18. Hope this helps!

Love those wheels! What are they?

Also, I totally recommend if you are not going to drop, a larger sidewall and non runflat. Makes a huge difference in ride quality.

CSL replicas from VMR in 18x8.5 et40 finished in their hyperblack. I think they changed the name to V703 but they no longer offer that finish. You can get a custom finish called Sunken Treasure which is close i believe. Mine are close to 11 years old and thats how well they have held up (now used for winter duty as well for the past 3 years)
