When you code module, it reboots. You will immediately see changes.

Holding power button does not always work on newer firmware. That just turns off display.

Do you have a step by step guide?

Will the ID6_light UI be gone if the dealer updates the I-Level of the car in a software update/flash?

Is the ID_6 light UI dependant on production date in order to be the default UI when doing a complete I-Level flashing so before 'x' month/year ID5 UI is flashed or enabled on ID5 hardware units and after 'x' month/year ID6_light UI is flashed or enabled on ID 5 hardware units?

I have fsc, coded my car, connect phone and car. Phone say carplay using. Car say carplay using. Just screen not show carplay.

Also everything works perfectly. I delete 6nh and add 6ns and coding car. Carplay is gone.

I make

You should not have 6NH & 6NS. But, you can have 6CP & 6NS or 6NH.

I dont understand here. My car has just 6NH and i using carplay.

Now i change 6NH to 6NS. I add 6CP for carplay? Or using carplay not added 6CP (like 6NH)?

FA SA Codes do nothing on their own. But, applied to vehicle, during VO Coding, they change designated FDL parameters to appropriate values.

Therefore, you can either VO code or FDL code and it will have the same result.

• 6NH
• 6NS
• 6NW

I do not believe the secondary options are required for Carplay to function, but I know not.

I repeat, your options are to either VO code or FDL code.

I have 6NH and not have 6CP. And i use carplay and id5 on my f30. My car has factory nbt but it is id4. We make an update and using id5 and carplay. (New fsc vs.)

Now i delete 6NH and add 6NS and make fdl coding my nbt unit. And carplay is gone. I change 2 parameters on fdl and my phone + my car say carplay connected. But screen not shown carplay screen.

I asked, how i fix this?

I changed from ID5 to ID6 lite on my 2017 340. I have CarPlay which I bought from the connected drive store.

When I changed to ID6 there is no longer the small icon on the main menu to switch to CarPlay.

I can still use CarPlay but have to go into sub menus which is a bit annoying.

Anyone know how I can get the CarPlay icon back on ID6?

ID6 does not display correctly. You only want to toggle between ID5 & ID6 Lite.

I think he's right. The i-level is too low.

Back when we were playing with our converted units and it crashes or goes back to a default coding state, you'll see the menu appear like a list like on ID4 and not the horizontal tile layout.

You need at least Nov 16 software (so an update may be in order) and then 6CP ordered for $300 through ConnectedDrive or non-OEM FSC codes for less.

I coded on '17 F13. ID6 only filled a 1/4-1/3 of the screen. ID6_lite displayed perfectly. Do you know I-Step?

Can you tell me if this coding update from iDrive 5 to iDrive 6 Lite (GUI only) is reversible? I would really like to try it on my F15 but i am quite worried about dealer voiding the warranty over it. I apologize if the answer seems obvious, i just want to be sure. I appreciate the help.

yes, it is simply one field change in HU_NBT and very easy to swap back and forth.
