Would you be able to help with FSC Code - I got the hex file and ran it through multiple PCs with FSC generator but the codes aren't working. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Yes I also found these but I think it’s a case of waiting for the combined maps to be released as I think the east and west maps were also available as separates previously.

Does somebody have the Europe 2019-1 Evo maps. My connected drive map update subscription has expired for the actual version, but I guess if I have the 2019-1 version on a usb the car will update with no FSC required. I am on the 2018-... still. Thanks!

As long as you have a 32 GB USB drive or more, you should be good. The first thing is that you have to format your drive as FAT32. Make sure the file system is set to FAT32 or else your BMW's iDrive system won't recognize it. Google a video on how to do that if you don't know how to format a drive.

Next, you need to find or calculate the FSC code. The FSC code is the activation key that you need to have on hand before installation. If you updated your BMW's iDrive navigation unit in the past and used a "lifetime" FSC code, you can omit this step. Otherwise, go on Google to find out how to obtain your FSC code. You will also need to know the difference between Premium, NEXT, NBT, etc. Oh and once you get your code...just check "lifetime" in the software tool and use that code....that way you won't have to ever enter another FSC code again.

Once you get your FSC code, download the navigation update files that jakkuh was kind to provide to us and copy the config file and the entire pkg folder to the root of the USB drive. The "root" is basically the top-most folder of the drive.

Plug the drive into your USB slot in the glove box, not the armrest console. Turn the electronics on the car (engine doesn't need to be on) and give the iDrive system a bit to recognize the USB drive...because it will automatically prompt you with a message asking if you want to update it.

Once it's updating, let it do it's thing. If the car shuts off while you're gone...it's ok, you do NOT have to start all over. It just picks up where it last left off -you will notice this because once it picks up from where it was last left off at, the progress bar and percentage will skyrocket to where it will resume. Once it's done...the iDrive system will auto-restart and you will no longer have to resort to ancient cartography...because now you have the 2019 map data!!!

When I formatted my memory stick to FAT 32 the files were too large to transfer from my pc (4GB is the max; the files seem to be just over that). The troubleshooting suggestion I found was to format it to NTFS which I did and the files transferred easily. When I plugged the stick into my car's USB nothing happened. I guess my question is, is FAT32 format is required for the car to recognize it, how can I get those files onto my memory stick? Should I transfer the unzipped files to the USB first??

You have to unzip the file and then transfer to a Thumb drive formatted to FAT32
