I have Lewis winning it all this year, after a few struggles.
Let’s bet on this - how about $10,000? I’d wager ham will not win the WDC. We can have the money held until the season is over and winner takes all. He’s going to need to beat at least 5 other drivers who are better than him. Don’t see that happening when he’s never done it before.
AmuroRay won't because it's a stupid bet. Any of the betting services will take just $500 on Hamilton to pay $10,000.
You're right, it is a stupid bet. But he seems awfully confident it can/will happen. So fair enough of HeelToeShift to propose it.
As he mentioned, he needs to beat drivers better then him now. Including his own teammate, in the same car... He's not the Lewis of pre-2021 anymore. He's old now, and not at the same level. Yes, he's still good, and will still have glimpses of what he used to be - this past Saturday was a good example of that, along with a handful of his races over 2022-2024. But both his consistency and speed isn't what it used to be. He doesn't even drive the same way as he used to when he was dominate in the Mercedes pre-2021, and his McLaren days.
I don't bet but did see something funny after NFL Fantasy Football was over this year. I was eating dinner with my wife downtown and saw a nearly naked man wearing a diaper carrying a sign. Then we saw people laughing and taking pictures with him. We had to see for ourselves when we left!!! His sign said, "I SUCK AT FANTASY FOOTBALL". Turns out he was dead last in his league and that was the punishment
Great guy, he didn't welch and made the best of it
What about those who have bet on Lawson ?

these Dutch they just know? F1 website or RB website hasn't said anything ... does the Dutch article say anything about who replaces Tsunoda at VCarb?

but if Tsunoda drives with Max, he is the rightful heir. makes it interesting for us couch potatoes.

It's all over the F1 news sites now and reports say Lawson back to Racing Bulls.

I wonder if anyone taking bets whether Lawson out qualifies Tsunoda in Japan.

You'll see.

F1 journalist Erik van Haren ain't no YouTube influencer. De Telegraaf is a big Dutch newspaper. He won't leak an F1 scoop if he was told to embargo insider info. If he leaks an F1 scoop, it means that a trusted source operating within the F1 inner circle wants the world to know. Not the first (accurate) F1 scoop that Erik van Haren leaks, by the way. And he's still welcome at the Red Bull Racing hospitality in the paddock. Guess why.

Well I did say that I hoped he'd have a great start compared to Checo and Lawson's career is just the beginning for him, so I'll raise my hand.

I trust nothing until confirmed by RB.

I think it'd be crazy to swap Lawson out now. While yes, Japan is Yuki's home race, he's doing really well in the racing bulls seat right now. Why put him into a car that he's very likely to fail in? No way he would want that.

Lawson also was unfamiliar with both tracks so far this year. He's familiar with Japan though, so he might have a better go at it in Japan.

Checo is probably just sitting back with some tequila, soaking in the nice mexico weather, laughing his ass off as his sponsors work out a deal with Caddy...

Don’t remember another front wing snapping without contact on these modern cars like what happened to Yuki. Bad luck for him.

We will see how he handles the twitchy RB.

Yuki improved a lot . Honda is very proud to have Yuki in the RB21 seat at Suzuka.
The Japanese fans will go crazy .Can't wait to see that . Awesome (!)
I heard Honda dropped $10Million to get the little Japanese in that wild Bull.
Hopefully Yuki can master the RB Frankenstein car , but not at MAX's level .
And if he fails , it can be the end of his F1 career.....

Checo ?
Think you mean that KitKat will buy his 2026 Caddy seat

Dutch sources confirmed that the decision to swap drivers, was taken in Dubai last Monday. And it's final.

As for example Erik van Haren (Dutch F1 journalist of De Telegraaf newspaper) explained in a podcast this week, the reason why no official RBR statement has been released yet, is obvious: the practical roll out of the decision involves work (formalizing contract changes with drivers, sponsors, internal communication with FIA, internal announcement and presentation to team/staff, media pictures, etc.). And the world is watching - pretty bold move made after only two races. According to him, the official press release may be expected shortly, no doubt about it.

And also according to him, Verstappen didn't mind keeping Lawson on board, just like he didn't mind keeping Perez on board for 2025. But the powers that be at RBR decided differently. According to van Haren, Verstappen ain't happy about all the shelter skelter - he prefers to operate in a calm/stable work atmosphere.

To all those who got RBR Liam Lawson merchandise: collectors' items. Lawson had a dream. But a nightmare is also a dream.

2016:

Helmut Marko last December about Tsunoda:
"Yuki is certainly the faster of the two [Lawson-Tsunoda] in terms of speed at the moment. But he doesn't have the necessary consistency and keeps making mistakes. Then there are his outbursts of anger, which have improved significantly, but they remain a factor. Then he loses control. We believe that it would lead to great difficulties emotionally if Tsunoda realised, next to Max, that he couldn't beat him. He possibly couldn't even get close and what if things weren't going as he had imagined?"
Netflix 'Drive To Survive' will get lots of entertainment material this season.
