Not a chance!!
I could do our old M135i in just over an hour: - Snow Foam - Rinse - Wash - Aquawax - Buff - Fast Glass windows - Hoover Took just shy of 2 hours for the F31!!

The F31 does take a bit of effort! My wife's A1 feels like a warm up excersize in comparison!
Shouldn't there be some pictures of said clean car?

Yeah totally agree- it's a lot of surface to clean!
I've got three cars to do each time.... takes me about 4 hours!

Yeah - did think about it, but had to shoot off out. Now not quite as shiny and it's far too hot to do again!!

4 hours!!!!
I can do both cars in less than 1 hour - wash and towel dry. Waxing adds extra half an hour. I do the cars every week - I think it makes the job easier. What are peoples views... ....."frequent and quick".....or ..."infrequent and slow".... And for certain people out there...I am talking about car washing! Here is my car after its "quicky" today. |

This has prompted me to give mine a quick wash:
Foam Rinse Wash Rinse Chamois Fast glass Knackered Just over an hour. I generally wash it every couple of weeks, but only if it needs it. The main problem I get is bird shit; I spray it with Fast Glass and sponge off with hot water as required. |

2 hours will do a proper job, 1 hour for a quick wash. Setting up the pressure washer, letting foam dwell whilst prepping 2 buckets and the clean up after takes a fair bit of time in itself. A proper clean of the wheels takes about half an hour and then vacuuming interior/door shuts also adds times. Depends how often you clean and what you find approproate for a maintenance wash.

Yeah, I won't let BMW wash it, let alone a £15 hand car wash!

I did a quick clean of mine (1Hr) and the wife's new Fiesta (30 mins) at the weekend. After around the 90 mins mark, she chirps up are we going out or what...
I was just down to the last wheel at the time... Sadly, there is not enough time available at the weekend to clean cars and do the rest of the family commitments with 2 small kids. Personally, I find it great "me" time, away from the kids etc, and would quite happily spend 2-3 hours cleaning the cars given the chance...

Cars get washed if they really need it - maybe every month in winter, every 2-3 months this time of year.
And we own all our cars, not on lease or PCP ! Does amuse me, some people spending hours carefully washing and waxing, working on the wheels, on a car they don't even own. |

Reasons why I wash it, 1. If I choose to sell it at any point (which. I'm at liberty to do with a PCP) it will be in the best condition and command the best value 2. I often keep my PCP (BMW) cars to ride out the neg equity so I want it in good shape then too 3. Personal pride. I feel the car is in some ways a representation of myself so just as I I like to look good, I like my cars to be presentable too. |
