2015 BMW 320i XDrive won't start
2015 BMW 320i Xdrive aka F30 with the N20 motor I believe. Couple months back my cousin replaced the brake pads on it and wear sensor. Test drove it before I left his home but before I left I plugged in this beat up portable air pump that I believe may have fried my alternator , electric coolant pump , and starter. That air pump was dragged and was ran over so it was no good. Didn’t have a problem with vehicle starting until I got the brakes changed or pumped air with that pump. Had the alternator , starter and electric coolant pump replaced and those codes cleared but I still have codes for Central Gateway Module ZGM. Front Electronic Module. Electronic Transmission Management.
Codes are: 801C20-ZGM:Central Memory Fault-No control-unit fault. 804181-Side Lights , Front ,right faulty. 420634-Position sensor: parking lock in intermediate position for too long. CF20C1-No message (group fault 3 - effect during driving: none): receiver EGS, transmitter CAS/FEM/JBE/FRM 480A11-Brake pad wear sensor: Front axle, replace brake pads 480A12-Brake pad wear sensor: Rear axle, replace brake pads |

Turns out the motor is locked guys. Thank you all for your help either way.
6 months ago I paid 6,900 for my 2015 BMW 320i XDrive Twin Turbo F30 with the n20 engine with 130k miles and the engine just locked up wasn’t able to manually turn it even without serpentine belt on. Found two motors both for $1700 and have 129k and 130k and I think labor should be around $1500. Is it worth fixing up and flipping it? Or should I part everything out? If I do part out wondering how much I’d make. |
