Picked the amazing mofo up :-)
Picked up the 440i GC....... OMFG... First of all, carbon black, What a colour! Coming from a nicely run in 330d. Engine is completely different (obviously) and i loved the 330d, so smooth (no ASD). but this is a drivers car. I am getting used driving it at the moment, i havent needed to do much over 4k revs for years.....so i need to used being able to drop gears and revs. I did the paddle hold to drop multiple gears. What a sound? breaking in a bit at the moment, so cant bring myself to redline....but up at those revs this must be a ridiculouly fast car. In fact i cant imagine what M3/M4 feels like. I used to be an engineer at Bentley and have been fortune enough to drive them alot for testing. but being smaller cars and nimble is such a different feel. 4 Series does feel a different car, mine was a 63 plate touring, maybe some of that is 45000 miles Need to get more driving now, only had chance to do 50 mile so far. The photographer in the background is my dad....not some random onlooker |

Wow, that looks stonking Dave! Love the wheels too. Congrats!
I found the 40i engine to have quite a bit of grunt right up near the redline, so you still have that to look forward to! Last edited by Karlj; 03-31-2016 at 06:18 AM.. |

Congrats, lovely car and looks like you had a decent handover too (not the 5 mins in the carpark that I had!)

Stunning car, congratulations.
I had Carbon black on my old F10 and it was unique with two colours in one depending on the light/shade. Enjoy it....

looks fabulous, congratulations.
I'll be very interested to follow how you find it compared with the 330d (which i have and also love). I see you are from Manchester. Which dealer did you get her from?

Great looking car
This will be my next car. Are you aware your number plate spells out "MILF"? (sorry somebody had to say it)

Yeh, I live in Littleborough, as near to west yorkshire without being from Yorkshire as you're going to get haha. So I goto Rochdale Williams BMW. Ive got to say theyve always been really good and professional with me, great deal that I pushed them into using C2C prices etc. May depend on the salesperson, A few people I know have been happy with the service from there. Done a bot more driving today, its more deceptively quick than the 330d, driving at normal speeds in traffic etc, very similar but smoother. steering feels different and chassis is tighter...whther this is a 4 series over 3 series thing or just getting used to a run in 330d. Obviously the engine is still tight, i think it will much more eager to go straight off the mark in another couple of 1000 miles. At the moment straight off the mark very similar, as lets face it the 330d is no slouch... but i cant remember whether my car felt less responsive at first. I drove a 335d (demo car) last year and was slightly underwhelmed. I felt mine was more responsive than that. But the sound and the rev range....you can just drive this more. whereas the big diesels are easy to drive fast but less smiley. |

Congrats on your cracking car! Looks lovely. I'd be a bit jealous, if I didn't have my 40i Tourer. |

So I took what I could get which pretty covered what I really wanted. So:- Pro nav - standard anyway, and a must for me HUD - filtered the cars on this anyway when looking, I think ill like this alot. works really well, msport+ A necessity on a car like this for me, I only had half the options on my last one. HK audio is great, obviously brakes and wheels really set it off. Adaptive LED lights - Sort of free because they were just on the car, was driving last night, they are very impressive, but I cant honestly tell you how much worth over just adaptive xenons because I had candles before. I probably wouldnt have specced but maybe I dont know how lucky i am... Reverse camera - nice to have and really good, but Ive never needed it before. Sliding armrest - Not bothered split folding rear seats - would have been bothered if it was a choice between no fold (like a 3) and folding. Nice to have I suppose Cant think of anything else. The only things I would like but were at the bottom of the list are Speed limit display - good with HUD but not worth not getting the car for. Folding mirrors - I had them before, and a car like this should probably have them.......but again in no way a good enough reason not to get it. Whereas:- Msport+ and HUD where my main things Interior is nice with the black leather and brushed alumiuim...looks very classy, sunroof would set it off nicely, so yours will look superb. I like the heavier doors due to the frameless windows on the 4, feels a good quality close ...these are all thing you pick up when changing from one to the other that are essential very very similar cars |
