Help Wanted: VRSF Chargepipe

Recently had a VRSF chargepipe installed on my 435i and am now hearing an abnormal whistling sound when my car's at WOT. No accompanying CEL and had the car checked for leaks.

Having trouble diagnosing the cause (and honestly not the biggest gearhead), but would appreciate any help from a fellow forum member who may be familiar.

Only other mods are HEX Tuning Stage 1 Flash and MPE. Located in San Francisco. Let me know — lunch on me.

If there no lost in power then it's normal.

Definitely no major loss of power, but can't tell if it's something minor. It's also mainly the annoyance of the sound 😅

If it sounds like a big "woooshh" under WOT, I would go back in and make sure the Chargepipe is properly connected to the IC. It has to be seated flush so you might have to wiggle it and push it firmly.

If its in there properly, you might have installed the rubber seal backwards.

Tighten down the meth bung plug. It's a hex/allen but I don't recall what size.

I'll do it for free lunch!

Thanks for the tips -- I'll take a look at those items. Don't believe it's the meth bung plugs, as I specifically called that out to the installation shop, and they mentioned they tightened and sealed them. (The shop I used isn't conveniently located to me, otherwise I'd revisit them.)

Here's a quick clip in case it provides further insight. Hard to hear, but the sound comes on mid-way.

Like the guys mentioned earlier, o-rings (TB to CP, TMAP sensor, and CP to FMIC), meth bang, rubber sleeve, and sitting position.

It wasn't easy sliding it on TB and FMIC to be honest, but lubricant was the key!

FWIW... I seem to remember the inside of the VSRF charge pipe as NOT being the most well finished tubing.. and I could swear I remember a couple sharp edges which I sanded down. I've got the same CP.

If you don't have any vaccuum leaks, I'd guess that you might have a sharp edge in the pipe that, with a significant movement of air over it... whistles.

Bump, if anyone has the chance to take a look/help. Double checked and nothing visibly stands out, but not too familiar with the car beyond standard maintenance. Would definitely appreciate any guidance — lunch on me.

Happy holidays.

Figured this out and posting in case others have a similar issue in the future and can troubleshoot. It's actually the "MPE whistle" -- if you run a forum search, a lot of results should appear.

Thanks, all.
