I would imagine so. I don't know of any that change the normal idle or even allow you to change it. Most flashes will let you eliminate the cold start or change the cold start rpm, but not the actual idle after cold start.

Got it. So I guess the only change that we possibly could see is the 6.5k rev test? We'll know soon, after I flash. Man, I need to make the time to do this...

Potentially, but even the rev test will probably be unaffected by tune. I did notice a difference in the sound the car made before and after tuning, but it was slight. I'd liken it to the difference, for example, that a cam makes to the sound profile of an engine, except on a lesser scale. It sounds a little different, but not louder. It almost just sounds like the engine is working harder if that makes sense... I guess we'll see for sure whenever you get around to flashing

Surprised the DP didn't increase the volume more. While it doesn't look like it's too much louder, I'm sure it sounds a lot better than stock. Are the test results about what you experience in person?

To be honest... it felt like much less of a "rip" with the DP on.

As you are aware, Im FBO with no tune and I have a feeling that my car is not running anywhere near optimally. That being said, Im not experiencing any drive ability issues.

I feel like Im in desperate need of a tune to get me straightened out. I just dont want my MPG to go in the shitter because of it. Afterall this is my DD.

Weve discussed the longevity issue and Im feeling like that is more of a mental thing than anything.

I feel. Yah, a good tune will really wake her up and have her running right. Like I was telling you in the other thread, the car doesn't seem to like being catless with no tune or a stage 1 tune, but both you and I have experienced it now so there must be something to that claim...

As far as mpg goes, idk if I gave you the specifics, but my average mpg is 25.5mpg, that's probably 80% city 20% highway. And I've got a very heavy foot and drive almost exclusively in sport mode. So if you do more highway miles in comfort eco/and have a more responsible right foot than me, I wouldn't be surprised if you averaged 27 or 28 mpg, if not better.

And I agree with that last statement

I'm down to almost 17-18mpg right now with the E30 tune. I drive about 90-95% in the city though. Highway driving normally makes up about 2 minutes of my commute.

About 3.5 miles on the highway. Another 2ish miles on the streets.

yeah originally worried about the volume but realized half the cars in this damn city are louder than fighter jets Only reason we still have stock cats on all our cars is for smog!! every car (except mama's G12 7 series back home) will set off car alarms when revved lol!

Having heard that, I'm anxious to see what kind of decibel rating it does lol. If you know, how big is the piping on the straight pipe out of curiosity?
