I wish they would get rid of these lines. It made deciding on my F30 a real pain.

That is strange. I honestly don't understand BMW's logic any more. I really think they are try to see how much BS they can get away with. I' m thinking some people on the board need to pursue other interests.

nice to see xenon as standard.. if only the f30 would get that option. maybe in the lci it will have the Full LED as optional and xenons as standard.

I think for once the packages are nicely made. They kind of make sense and you don't have to take a whole package to get one of the things really needed.

Except:
1. Navigation should be standard on any BMW nowadays
2. So should the heated front seats and alarm.

Mostly, (reading Cadillac Escalade and Audi A6 forums) LED low beams are not as powerful as new HIDs. Current LEDs still have hard time matching HID systems in lumens per watt output (efficiency).
But on the over hand LED are more intelligent (check 7-series LED headlights in action), last longer, output doesn’t decline over time like HID bulbs and they look waaaay cooler (at least Audi's headlights).

This changed during the E9x->F30 transition.

Negative. People are cheap. Even when spending $40K on a car, some people get really annoyed that a $2K navigation is more expensive and has less features than their $200 smart phone. So they refuse to pay. And BMW can't give away Nav "for free" on a $40K car, so they let people pay the premium. When you get into the $70K base price, then there is enough margin to include it for free.

I was just reading an article somewhere a couple weeks back saying that LED technology has yet to surpass HID's in light output...

Nav sucks, it takes way too long to input a destination using iDrive. I have it in my car but if I need directions I reach for my iPhone every time. I picked my car up off the lot and got a great deal on it, I couldn't order my 335is since they were out of production, but if I did order it I wouldn't have specced navigation.

So still no premium leather option? what was the point of adding a number to the name when it has all the same options as the 3 series? At least make nappa/novillo leather available. Better be an option in the Gran Coupe or that car seriously has no point.

The point was to make more money.

No MT on x-drive!! FAIL

It's sad to see BMW going the way of infinity on their AWD cars and not offering MT. Bullshit IMHO. I live in a winter climate and want to shift myself. What's wrong with that?

I suppose it depends on how you want to quantify "light output", but BMW claims they're better: http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500741

Let me know when your phone can project turn by turn directions into your HUD

BTW, you can use google maps to find a destination and send directly to the car's navigation, you use the BMW Remote App.

A $60k 435i without an alarm...oh brother.
If you think BMW is naming the 4-series "4" for more $$$ I think you're mistaken. The 3 series is the most popular model for BMW so diverting from that is a big risk and is most likely to adapt their nomenclature for the entire model line so the "big picture" lines up between all of the series. It's no secret that purists have balked at the renaming (especially renaming the iconic M3 to a *gasp* M4) so I highly doubt this is a money grab on BMW's part.

We will adapt to the new naming convention in time though... especially the part where they are renaming the 1-series to the 2-series to make room for the M1?? (guy can dream, can't he?)

I bet you don't even use 250hp on a daily basis/average out of 300hp.
Why keep crying about power?
