Hi Soul_glo,
Sorry to revive an old thread, How much did Jas charge yo for the gearbox oil change? A few off the PH forum recommended Stephens Engineering. I e-mailed and they wanted to speak over the phone to discuss things properly so I will call when I have a minute. I think it will be cheaper to have it done in the UK but from someone who knows their stuff. The closest I can think of to Leicester is Coventry. When I lived in Warwick I used Olympia Motors (chap named Jas). I supplied oil. He supplied the pan and filter kit. This was around 5 years ago. I used Liqui Moly oil. Fantastic oil. Makes things a lot smoother especially when cold. No issues. I believe it may also be used in Mercs. It is a straight forward process. You get your engine up to temp. The gearbox needs to be a specific temp for the best drain. They tilt the car and let it drip out over a few hours. Then when changed each gear is held for a certain amount of time. Gearbox adaptation are reset and off you go gently. It took around 4 hours. __________________ Just let your soul glo.... |

Should be able to find a local garage here:
https://aftermarket.zf.com/go/en/aft...twork/#/result Got a recent quote of £380 + vat from my nearest one. Not booked it in yet as they want it overnight which is a bit of a ball ache. |

Buy the kit yourself and just pay for the labour, autodoc do it for £160 odd most of the time. Garages I've spoken with have all quoted £250-300 just for the parts and were quite surprised when I said I could get it for that cheap myself

This is the one for my car (2014 330d) -
Hey, check out ZF GETRIEBE Parts Kit, automatic transmission oil change in the AUTODOC app https://m.autodoc.co.uk/zf-getriebe/8824048 Currently £162.79 if you order from the app. I've seen it as low as £147 this week and as high as £210. Price fluctuates delay but usually at least once a week it's around the £160 mark. |

Used those guys myself to service my box last year - decent enough, job done while I waited.
For what it’s worth they’re the guys that Car SOS use.

Hard to say really.
For me it was more about preventative maintenance- as I’m planning to keep the car for a bit plus he’s got a remap.
