hi, I recently picked up a 2013 bmw 330d.

For some reason, only when the fan is set to cold without the aircon switched on, there's a very bad smell coming from the vents, like sweat socks or off milk.

I understand that aircon can cause this but I've never known it with a standard blower.

Strangely, if I turn the temperature up to full the smell goes until I turn it back down to 16c whereby the smell returns..

Has anyone else had this?

I would check the cabin filter.
