2018 GT Pricing (Midwest)

Wondering if anyone got an pricing info on the 2018s. What discounts are you getting? I'm looking in the Minneapolis/Chicago area for placing a factory order.

Also how do rumors pointing to GT being discontinued after MY2018 affect pricing?

I wouldn't trust the rumor mill. They said the 5GT was going away too, but it's now the 6GT. The 3GT is popular in China, the market it was originally developed for, and the Chinese aren't buying fewer cars than five years ago, they're buying more, especially BMW. The 2018 is supposed to be sold as a 2019 as well, so any change would be in 2020.

Thanks for your reply, Billfitz.

I meant the GT to be discontinued in the US, not globally. Too many articles from trusted publications hinting at this. Either way, that's not my primary concern.

I would like to know the discount to shoot for based on trends. Anyone purchased this model off late?

Use True Car, it's pretty accurate. As for 'trusted publications', I haven't trusted one since Car and Driver made the 1983 Renault Alliance one of their 10 Best Cars, while Motor Trend made it the Import Car if the Year. I took their word for it and bought one. Worst car I've ever owned.

Some logistical/timing issues had me buy elsewhere, but I had great treatment in developing a very attractive deal from this dealer.

The A5 sportback is a thing now. If they're not spiffing you significantly when there's a better-driving, more up-to-date, but slightly less practical direct competitor on the market they're nuts and you should tell them to go to hell

We ordered ours in Q2 of 2013 for Q3 delivery (so, right when they came out) and got 10% off MSRP, 1% of which was a blanket "any 3-series $500 options cash" thing. Doubt they're going to do worse than that now

I see the A5 Sportback as a competitor to the 4GC, but not the 3GT, at least not for one of the main reasons why I went with the GT, which is rear legroom. That four inches makes all the difference in the world for a trip longer than five miles.
