F30 LCI - poorer suspension or the mistake?

Hello,

This is my first post on Bimmerpost.

I am planning the f30 LCI purchase. I tested pre-LCI (316 i). I like that suspension very much. On wheel rims of 17 inches. Very \ "dignified\" amortizing. Two days ago I tested LCI 318d on wheel rims of 18 inches. It didn't appeal to me. Much tougher suspension. Similar to the VW Golf? ;-)
OK. I know: there were 18inches. And LCI has a tougher suspension according to press information.

However I discovered something... Possible that F30/F31 LCI have a "cheaper" and "full version" of standard hanging depending on the engine.

Here is detailed tech spec new F30/F31 LCI:
https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/globa...tem=node__4142

In that specification models 318d, 320i, 330i, 340i only have:
"Aluminium double-joint spring strut axle with displaced camber".

Rest of engines (318i, 316d, 320d, 330d) have "full" suspension:
"Aluminium double-joint spring strut axle with displaced camber, small positive steering roll radius, transverse force compensation, anti-dive".

Pre-LCI models - all have the same "full" suspension.

Questions:
1. Is it a mistake?
2. If not, what's that supposed to mean? How it is important for comfort?
3. Why do some models have a "poorer" suspension?
4. Why 318d only has "cheaper" suspension? Other diesels have "full".
5. Whether somebody tested and can express the opinion about the practical difference in the work of the pre-LCI and LCI suspension?

Regards

I'd put it down to a mistake, especially considering the 340i is listed as having single pison front brakes: "Single-piston floating-calliper disc brakes / vented"

They're actually fixed four piston callipers.

Most of the ones with a "full suspension" are diesels too. Could have something to do with it.

I have replay from BMW in Munich:

"It is a translation error. All BMW 3 Series have “Aluminium double-joint spring strut axle with displaced camber, small positive steering roll radius, transverse force compensation, anti-dive.” We will correct that."
