Adding more info from questions received...

- Estimate the tire's tread depth are about 5/32 or 6/32". Tires are Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT. No curb rash on the wheels.

- There is an area on the left lower rear that has touch up paint. Very hard to see from more than 3 feet away (picture below).

- Actual mileage is 18,274 today. I work from home and don't drive it much, but it will go up a bit on a weekly basis.

- 20,000-mile service is scheduled for the first week of January.

Thats not how MSDs worked. They reduce the money factor of the lease, or the cost of borrowing money. How are you calculating a $305 payment - are you saying you paid the full MSDs and are not asking the new lessee to pay you for them?

I've never leased. What will the buyout be at the end of the lease?

Thanks,
Charlie

Correct. He is not looking for any portion of the MSD in exchange for lease assumption. This is an AMAZING deal for anyone that is interested in leasing.

I'm sure 90% of the people here know that the lessee gets the MSDs back at end of the lease. In this case, it's $4900 to whoever assumes the lease. Since it's returned at the end of the lease, the payments are still $655 (in NC) for the remaining months...but if you factor in the MSD that is returned, the effective payment is $305. Math is shown in the original post.

I'll post an update in a few days after the car is serviced.

Hi, the residual is $37,057. I was able to negotiate a buyout at lease end that was less than the residual on my 335i, you may be able to do the same.

Thanks. I think BMW recently established a policy which forbids dealers from offering lower prices to the lessee. I have a 2013 manual Estoril Blue with nearly the same options but a 4 cyl engine. I'll have to ponder this a bit. Yours would be a very nice upgrade but I'm not sure it makes financial sense for me.

Hello! Update for everyone...

A nail in the right rear tire was discovered during service yesterday. Both rears were at 6/32 and fronts are 7/32. Decided I don't want to transfer the car to someone and risk a patch/plug not working so decided to have both rears replaced. Turns out these #@%!#! RFTs are expensive! Two Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires mounted and balanced was $916.38 (ouch!), and I'm asking prospective transferors to split the cost with me.

Also, all brake pads are at 7mm. I will email a scan of the service bill and inspection report to those with serious inquiries on this transfer.

Carfax is also available.

I was in that 10% that didn't know what a MSD was but a quick google search solved that. Sounds like a good deal $340 a month to rent a sweet ride for 14 months (I calculated the transfer fee)

Tempting it would resolve my problem for a bit wish you were closer.

Bumpity. Lots of interest, but no one has pulled the trigger.

Just made the January payment, so this is now ~$650 less that you'll need to pay.

Don't want to make another payment, but it's looking likely. Sooo...to help expedite transfer, I'm dropping the requirement to pay for half of the new rear tires (which were about $900).
