For those with the M Performance Exhaust . . . (Updated w/ Pics & Sound)
For those of you who had the BMW M Performance Exhaust installed on your F30 335i, my question is this: What did you do with the stock exhaust?
Are you keeping it? Are you selling it? What I am getting at is this: Is the stock exhaust worth anything? Thanks in advance.

Had mine done at the dealer before I took delivery. What did they do with it? Recycled it? Tech put on EBay? No idea. If they would have asked me I would have had them toss it in the trash. But love my M-Performance exhaust!!

Haha! I have heard nothing but good things about the M Performance Exhaust. I'm sure I'll pull the trigger on it here soon. Just a question of when at this point.

You WON'T be disappointed!! I love the sound. In fact, I spend more time with the windows open and radio off us to to listen to the exhaust note and the wonderful burble when you back off on the throttle. BUT it needs the golf-tee mod. Without it, it's not as wonderful!.

Mine was installed at port upon entry into the US, so they kept the old one.

A little. Not that bad. If I listen for it with the radio off I can hear it. But then I'm fine with the constant exhaust note without having to stomp on the gas. Under little or moderate load, there's a slight drone. Under heave load (heavy gas, no downshift on the MT) it's like riding behind a Harley-Davidson. But then I like that sound too.

I like yanking out the spring and wiring the flapper open. No throwing codes. A pair of pliers and about 10" of baling wire and you're done.

Working on getting some sound. When I have time I'll take some better pictures and do a write-up on my overall impressions of the M Performance Exhaust.
Two quick thoughts: 1) I love the look of it; 2) Quite noticeably but not dramatically louder than the stock exhaust. That being said, I guess the best way to put it is that the exhaust note is definitely more distinct. It sounds like it has some character now. It's been spitting rain here all day so that's why the tips look so grimy. UPDATE: After a few days with the exhaust, here are some additional observations: Cold starts sound much better (although the stock system was no slouch in this regard). Upshifts using the paddle shifters sound, in a word, glorious. No drone detected thus far when traveling 60-70 mph on the interstate. I find myself driving with the windows and radio down more than ever before. Exhaust sounds relatively tame in EcoPro mode.

Looks freaking awesome. Let us know if you do the golf tee mod and how much of a difference you think it makes.
My car will look exactly like that, if it ever gets here.

Haha hang in there. It will definitely be worth the wait when it arrives. You'll love both the car and the exhaust.

I personally believe that the exhaust sounds much better in person than it does in the clip provided on the BMW site. And it sounds pretty good in that clip (notwithstanding the low quality of the audio).

You need to give the exhaust a few days/heat cycles in order for it to mellow and find itself. The sound will change a bit as you break it in. Depending on how you drive, a few days or a few hundred miles.
