IAT gauge?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I am trying to figure out a way to monitor IAT on my 2016 340xi.

I want to be able to monitor in real time while driving.

Originally I was hoping to buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/BlueDriver-Bl.../dp/B00652G4TS

And connect obd to bootmod3 iphone app. According to Bootmod3, that Bluetooth obd adapter above is not compatible with their app.

Any good ideas on how to do this?

MHD wifi adapter and MHD. Connects right on your phone and can display up to 6 gauges I believe at a time (I use 4)

Thanks Pauli, but can can device work when you are out on the open road, and away from home WiFi network?

Yep, it's its own secure network that the adapter uses instead of bluetooth. Has nothing to do with your home wifi / internet

You can do the same thing with BM3 but you need the OBD agent to do it wirelessly.

You can also by a gauge like P3 gauge or AWRON vent gauge.

Great info. Thanks guys!

Is this the correct obd agent that is compatible with bootmod3?

BimmerLink would be the easiest way. Tons of sensor readings available.

+1 for bimmerlink. Probably the cheapest option in conjunction with a bluetooth obd2 connector. Can do bluetooth music and bimmerlink at the same time. Just need to connect bimmerlink first though when you first start the car. I now run the MHD wifi adapter with MHD after going stage 2.

BimmerLink is great. Just purchased it along with a Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+.

Super inexpensive and very impressed so far.

You can also use a bluetooth OBD2 adapter and the Torque app, which is great and I believe cheaper than bimmerlink

P3 is a great option. They hook into the OBD-II port, and it has a clean install into one of the vents. Gives you access to all that information.
