Delete Cruise Control

Hi,

I've got a 330d with cruise control, however it's just started playing up lately I tend to get a random cruise control failure which is very intermittent.

I just wanted to ask if there was a way to code out the cruise control.

I have the E-Net Cable and all the relevant software etc From what I've managed to read is that I should be able to just delete 544 from the coding which should trick the car into thinking it doesn't have cruise control and stop the random ping and cruise control failure warnings.

Any help would be appreciated

Why don't you try to fix the problem instead of masking it. What error are you getting?

In terms of errors I'm getting:

Dynamic stability control - Diagnose Fault D35A53 ICM/EPS interface (measured steering
angle, front axle, 57.1.2): invalid signal

Dynamic stability control - Diagnose Fault D35A62 Interface ICM/EPS (cross-acceleration
gravity point 0x19A) invalid signal

Just seems quicker and easier to delete cruise control functionality for now and when I manage to get a new shape steering wheel i'll install later down the line.

Did you have an alignment lately?

I think the steering angle sensor needs resetting. It can be done through ISTA. It is in the steering écu (can't remember the name now), read the écu data and you will find it.

what does ISTA suggest to do to fix this?

I've not changed anything at all from the car lately but it might be worth a punt! Just need to source a copy of ISTA lol

Could i use the E-Net cable for it?

Yeah enet cable is fine. I downloaded mine here:

https://www.bimmergeeks.net/downloads

After you instal it go to the settings of ista and change the communication to enet. Worked like a charm for me.

I thought you had all the bmw software. Ista is also called Rheingold.

Garage List
Usually it’s the multifunctional steering wheel buttons that’s what causing the trouble.

I am not really familiar with the issues, but I think if he checks on Ista what the codes are and what test procedures ista suggests he might be able to troubleshoot.

Does anyone know how he can disable the cruise control?

He only has to delete the 544 from the VO and code ICM, Kombi and and FEM.

yep my OCD is just as bad! lol

Quick update I tried ISTA and it suggested the faults were with the steering wheel so resetting the angle sensor wouldn't really have worked.

I may try to delete the cruise control as option a but really need to get to grips with ESYS

So the errors had to do with the steering wheel buttons?

Fair enough. Have they failed or you can clean them or something?

Let us know how the coding goes

Please activate an FA first. [G008]?

I've deleted the VO 544 from the list and thought i'd just have to refresh the
a. FEM
b. ICM
c. KOMBI

But doesn't seem to work or I don't know what values to change

Delete the 544 from the VO and Save the VO.
Then load the edited VO, activate the VO and Mark the ecus FEM, ICM and Kombi and Hit the button „Code“.
