Simple (rear) side to side Wheel rotation/swap

Can rotate rear wheels side to side in under 10 minutes with this bottle jack, most helpful for those running a staggered setup. Please note: I would not work under the car or perform any jarring maintenance/repair with the car suspended like this. On a flat surface however, it is perfectly safe for a quick rotation or wheel swap.

Wondering if anyone knows of something similar to a bottle jack with a very low profile to fit under front central jacking location?

The point here is easy mobility and general compact size (not a trolley jack or stationary garage jack).

I can't answer your question but this is very convenient for small things that need to be done but not to get under car. Cool!

No clue on the front. I have a pretty low profile floor jack, and that doesn't fit under my front. Need to use the side jack points.

Just a FYI for others trying the single rear approach, my rims are always corroded around the wheel hub when I swap my summers for winters. They never just fall off, and require some pretty substantial "abuse" to break them free. I would never try that with a single bottle jack.

This is a good point, for sure.

Im in a warmer climate currently and even when I was out west in the snow, had my wheels off enough to not have a ton of corrosion (every 5k miles).

I still do have to give mine a gentle mule kick (standing backwards) to get them off... full disclosure.

If that did not work, I agree with you... STOP and bring the car down. Not worth going full retard mode and making a mess!

I should add what I've did in the past for the front is to jack up one side, but a couple pieces of 2x6's under the that wheel, let it down, and then I can use my floor jack on the center front jacking point.

Sort of a PITA, but works when I need to.

I had that rust issue too until I started using anti-seize on the hubs when I swap summers and winters. Just a thin film around the hub is all it takes. Note - use a non-metallic scrubbing pad to knock off any rust and clean the hub before applying.

Now they come off with no effort. This stuff is terrific and a lifesaver if you swap wheels and live where hub corrosion can be an issue.

I have a low profile jack that fits under my front and rear no problem. It is 3" high when not active. Car is lowered on dinan springs/bump stops too. Pretty sure it's this same model although i got it about 5 years ago. It's been great, no complaints. Once you jack the car up, slide in your esco jack stands and you're good to go.

That was my genius plan AFTER I put all 4 summers back on! I'm muttering to myself why BMW has rims and hubs that have galvanic corrosion and bond, while having a jar of anti-seize on the shelf right next to can of fluid-film.

Winters need to go on in the next couple of weeks, so that will be the plan this time. Wire brush the hubs, put on some anti-seize, and then I can eliminate the "mule kick" to get mine off!
