the poll doesn't work for the reasons mentioned but as long as performance is adequate, sound is very important to me; I chose my Z4 over a Boxster S largely because of sound and I can't ever see buying an electric sportscar for the same reason. YMMV

For me it would always be performance over sound. Ask again in 20 years when everything will be silent-performing EV's.

Man, the mental gymnastics of some posters...that's the whole pt, if you are forced to choose only one vs the other, which would it be (to see which you value the MOST in a sportscar)? Ofc irl there are various combos, acceptable tradeoffs, compromises, etc, but again that's not the purpose of this thread. For those having so much difficulty contemplating this simple question, here's a hyperbolic example: both cars look the same, the best-looking one, say, a Lamborghini Miura or whatever, car #1 drives like it's on rails but has a very weak exhaust note (or, gasp! silent like an EV) and car #2 has amazing sound of the best V12, V10, V8 (or whatever is your dream sound) but drives like a cargo van. Do you really value sound *that* much? I personally think sound is way overrated.
That's it.

You need to reread again, that's the thread cuz I started it, despite some mod changing my wording and causing some confusion. That's the intention, so let's go w that. Changed it to make it better.

Ask yourself logically why would you even pick a car that drives like a econolone van?
Ultimately of course performance trumps sound, otherwise youd just put a fart can on civic and be happy with it But this is the world of high performance bmws and the like, And performance is already pretty much solid , now id just like to enjpy that performance and have a great exhaust sound to go along with it Not too long ago great sound was synonymous with a cool sports car Today after a fervent 'climate change' agenda that does nothing to improve pollution but rather finds new ways to tax the everyday man and reduce quality of life for the middle class, a lot of gullible people have been convinced that sound doesn't and didn't ever matter Well it did and does! |

EVs are slowly but surely showing that sound/=performance, but many ppl are too stuck in the old way of thinking and can't adapt or change. |

Ok heres a simple analogy
"Performance only, who needs sound from my EV when i can shoot to 62mph from a dig in 3 secs" = sjw people who wear masks when driving alone "I need to hear my straight 6 / v8 roar like a lion when i downshift cruising through downtown." = red blooded Americans who can watch a episode of married with children and laugh out loud. All the 80s babies know what im talking about Last edited by GoneIn4Secs; 07-30-2021 at 08:56 PM.. |

Performance - easy choice for me.
Sound means nothing if you can’t perform. |
