Alpine White F30 M Sport

Hi all, thought it was about time I said hello and started documenting some of the tweaks I'm doing before I forget what I've done lol!

That looks absolutely gorgeous mate - the exact position I'm hoping to get mine too! Did the car come with the front splitter already installed? I've had a mare trying to find a reasonably priced gloss one....

what's the difference between arctic white vs mineral white vs alpine white? to my untrained eyes, it looks similar to alpine white.

Love what you've done so far and the pics are great too. Look forward to the white LED swap out as I'd quite like to do it to mine. Having driven mostly modern Audis, the orange back light seems a little cheap looking in the F30.

The soldering doesn't bother me so much ( worked at an electronics / PCB manufacturer for years when younger) its the taking apart of all the dials that worries me in case any clips break and I get an annoying rattle

but I suppose the creaking door seals will drown that out - another thing on my to do list lol

Nice ride and mods.
The LED swap job looks like something I would never attempt. I'm more ok doing mechanical DIY as opposed to Electrical
Are you lowering it?

Yeah 100% agree. I've ummmed and ahhhhed about lowering but to be honest the gaps not that big on mine, especially with the 19's and we do a lot of family European road trips around France and Holland so with the five of us in it, a full boot and a roof box I think I'm going to leave it stock :-)

I like your thinking. best of luck

Yeah 100% agree, I didn't enjoy it, especially when mine looked completely different inside to all the tutorials on YouTube lol... I had a cruise control wheel, an extra motherboard mounted on the back and all the screws were in a different place! Got there in the end though and once you have done a couple of LED's you get pretty quick, only took an hour all in :-)

I've ummmed and ahhhhed about lowering but to be honest the gaps not that big on mine, especially with the 19's and we do a lot of family European road trips around France and Holland so with the five of us in it, a full boot and a roof box I think I'm going to leave it stock :-)

Fair point. Is yours xDrive?
Mine being xDrive the arch gap drove me nuts, so I lowered it.
Slippery slope, as I want to add spacers now too. But mine is the family car for long haul trips up and down the country, so I'll carefully consider.

Your 704's looks great on the white!

New steering wheel day today!

The interiors absolutely mint and still has a lovely clean matte finish but the steering wheel has ended up with quite a shine and the previous owner obvious either had very long nails or a lot of studs on their jeans looking at the scratches around the bottom.

I've had a search saved on Gumtree for a few months and managed to grab this mint replacement last week from a 2020 320D with original unmarked matte finish and as new plastics.

Had to swap the controls over as it didn't have cruise control. So much happier with it, it was the one thing letting the car down on the inside and it was staring me in the face every time I got in lol! Didn't realise just how bad it was until I saw them side by side, especially the plastics around the M badge :-)

Also did all the seats with Dr Leather cleaner and protector so everything is looking and smelling nice :-)

and new bonnet badge fitted :-)

Another cosmetic upgrade today, brand new genuine M-Sport gear knob and gaiter from Sytner this afternoon... I didn't realise how shiny the gear knob was until I fitted the new matte leather steering wheel

Can't believe how hard it was to pull off!!!

Rear windows all tinted today... 15, just slightly darker than OEN tints, lovely job, picked kids up from school and none of them even noticed it was significantly darker in the back seats

I also set off one of those Aircon fresheners so it smells very... erm... citrussy now :-)
